I suppose I could just fix it and run it on jackstands and see if fronts spin faster haha

Thanks Ernie. I need to get this running again! Too many trucks in this house are "almost" driveable haha

Need to fix the t case and finish wiring up and mounting his brake lights and this rig will be 100%.
Then I can knockout a quick/slick paint job on the new body for the barrage. Then! I can finish the 79 ford.
After that... I got a thing coming soon... ;)

Get some red threadlock for those t-case shafts, it's what I had to use on my GCM t-case.

You don't have to take the gear off the shaft very often so the semi-permanent holding of the red stuff is perfect for that situation. If you ever do need to take the gear off the shaft again, it is safe to heat the whole thing with a torch/lighter to loosen the threadlock since the assembly is all metal. Just make sure to clean the parts to get all the old threadlock and grease off so it actually works.

thankya!!
i might have used blue last time but not sure. i need some red.

as for heating, its not a GCM case it was custom made by Ernie. nylon(Delrin?) plates/box IIRC. i might end up dremeling a small divot for the grub screw to bite into. maybe.
when i get a chance to blow it apart i'll post some pics so you all can see whats going on.

Ok got some time to check on this ol chebby...

Flipped her belly side up and noticed the front wheels spinning free but not the driveshaft.
BINGO!
just tightened up the front axle to driveshaft coupler and good to go!!!

Also bolted the spare to the back of the cab and secured all recovery gear, also fabbed up a wire antenna real quick.
Just need to finish the brake light wiring and mounting but...

TRAIL READY
