Question Kit availability?

Hi all.

Apologies in advance if this topic has come up.

I run an SCX10 ii, but my eldest picked up the Vaterra Blazer kit - built it up - and out of the box, he's able to keep up with 95% of the stuff my modded SCX can conquer.

My step daughter is turning 11 in a couple of weeks, and has driven my SCX a few times. She expressed interest in getting her own crawler - how do I say no to that?! I decided on the Vaterra Ascender for her adventures.

While looking online, I haven't been able to find a retailer that has any Ascender kits in stock. TONS of RTR - but no kits. Does anyone know the backstory to this? I don't *want* to get her an RTR, but it looks like my options are limited.

Thanks in advance!

The license on the Blazer body expired so Vaterra discontinued the kit and RTR Blazer. The kits disappeared pretty fast after the price dropped to $250.

Ahhh SUCH a bummer! I wish they would sell the kit with the option of no body.

Thanks for the reply!

Yes pretty much what svt923 said, I’d pick up RTR or BND, sell the parts you don’t want to offset the replacements.

I found one in Redmond/Seattle, says discontinued online, they may ship it, wouldn't hurt try.
Hobbytown - https://www.hobbytown.com/ascender-1...r03023/p375616.

Hope this helps, Steve.

Definitely check with the retailer first as there are some who will unscrupulously take your money with no plans of stocking the item 'cough Active Powersports'
