27th...what's coming?

I have seen posts on Facebook and Instagram from Vaterra about this date. A photo of silhouettes and the centre vehicle looks to be an off roader..

cue a wish list..

I've been noticing that myself. Rich did say new truck(s) by the end of the year. Looks like I need to step up the Ebay hustle...

Looks like a Yota? I guess we find out in 2 days

Arrma has something coming too... On the same day? Weird.

Anyone have the vaterra teaser image?
*got it.

Just realized, ascender is releasing a new truck almost the same day I'm releasing a new son! Well my wife is doing the releasing but you know what I mean lol

Uh. What if its just light kits?
"Let us shine some light on the subject..."
Is what the Facebook post says.

Re: 27th...what's coming?

I’m pretty sure I have read or heard Rich say it is not an Ascender 2.0, so maybe just a new body with lights, new battery tray and drive shaft outputs with the through hole etc.

Re: 27th...what's coming?

Rich did indeed say there wasn’t an Ascender 2.0 coming. The middle truck looks to have round headlights, which instantly make me think Yota. Maybe it’s a Yota Ascender with a full depth bed and new axles. Maybe?

A Couple v100 bodies would pull a premium one week before race wars...

Not very. There's a video on Facebook with a rep showing off the truck. Rear link risers, full size battery plate, plastic trans gears, and a new body.

Oh, and a $70 price drop.

The rep did say it was essentially still the same truck (boo!), so hopefully the 2 upgrades can be applied to the earlier trucks, lol

Oh and plastic links....

Here's the video: https://www.facebook.com/rcexcitemen...6441552491825/

If the video link is against any rules let me know and I'll pull it down ASAP...

It's the Ascender that we all know with some rear link risers, the new battery tray, a new body, plastic trans gears, plastic links, and Race Claw tires. Not bad for $279 and looks a lot better than a Deadbolt.

I'll reserve any judgement on the links and gears since they may hold up fine but I would love to see that Suburban body with narrowed axles, shorter shocks, and smaller tires.

Like the body. Like the full size battery tray. Dislike the plastic trans gears and plastic links.

It is definitely a step backwards putting plastic pieces back into the trucks. What a shame. The new body option is cool.

Re: 27th...what's coming?

I like the body. 3D grill is nice. Tires look ok, wheels would have to go quickly. Battery tray saves one initial aftermarket part to have to acquire up front. Only leveling factor to plastic links is the stock metal ones were too weak and needed replacing anyway. Make it a kit and let's go!

Cost had to come out of somewhere. Lower PP keeps them competitive.

Re: 27th...what's coming?

As I have 2 Ascenders, I won't be buying another. Seems the truck has been downgraded now which is a shame. The floating tray never bothered me as I dont comp and have plenty of small batteries that fit. Plastic gears, wtf are Vaterra thinking?

Competitive as a solid reasonably-priced truck, but I certainly have no desire to buy one...

And I don't hate the "new" truck, there just not enough there to make me wanna buy another one (already have 1 built kit and one spare nib kit, lol).

IMO, that body is ill-proportioned. Roof isn't tall enough.

Re: 27th...what's coming?

Wheel wells are huge as well. I know a lot of people would just cut them anyways, but I'd have rather seen smaller tires than those ginormous openings....

Glad I’ve already got the ascenders I wanted. Too bad. Hopefully they’ll come back with a kit so we at least get what we could have 4 years ago😕.
