Default Say hello to my little friend

Hey all, Haven't been posting much in the Ascender section for quite a while. I've been keeping an eye on y'all though. I've been hanging out in the 1.55 section with my latest Ascender. Figured I should share it here too, since it is based on my favorite platform.
Short wheelbase, GCM forward trans and rear leaf springs, 4 link front end and a FCP skid pretty much covers the biggest part. Figured I would do another first and build a Pacer truck. Used to see them in magazines way back when, and I think they have been pretty much forgotten about. While I was at it I had a driver and pasenger made that looks like me and my crawling buddy, Lucky. And yes Lucky is choking his chicken lol. Finished this little feller a couple of weeks ago and with a lot of luck I won most scale and best in show at Crawlapalooza last weekend. Talk about an honer. I'm still all giggly over it.
Introducing Mutt. Hope y'all get a giggle out of him. He was built with a since of humor.

Incredible and wildly entertaining scale trail rig!

Love the details, very VERY nicely done, sir!

Leaves and birdshit, hilarious...

Damn, a Pacer!

My uncle used to roll in a blue Pacer back in the 80’s. The rolling goldfish bowl. That thing is great!

Who is making these unlikely bodies?

That likeness of Robin Williams with the rubber chicken is hilarious

Brilliant style. I don't do detail stuff myself, but that is so good a job.

Have an ascender build. Bolts keep coming loose. Ive heard use super glue or lock tight. Would super glue work better for this problem

While all of it is beyond amazing, honestly, my favorite detail is what I assume to be the bird droppings on the hood... Such an awesome idea...

Thanks! I've always wondered why the scale rigs never get real world details. The bird shit idea has been rolling around in my head for several years now. I figured it was either a really good idea of a really bad one. I've found the people really are drawn to bird splats lol.

This is a modified Fresh Cherries R/C that was sold at Wal-Mart a few years back.
The passenger is actually my very good friend, Lucky, but now that you mention it, he does look like Robbin Williams i can't wait to tell him this!

I built this with the ol' redneck beater in mind. Bird crap on the hood, bug guts on the windshield, leaves in the cowl, beer and Skoal cans in the bed. one detail that most miss is the magazine on the dash featured and article on the Pacer truck.
I get tired of the same build using a different body every time. Trail gear, jerry cans and so on. Sometimes it's fun to build just to have fun and not ever give performance a thought.
Glad you like it!!!

Blue loc-tite will be more forgiving and cause less trouble when removing bolts.
