Glad to be back Bronco build

Well I've been MIA since like 06' after my "The Tubicon" Clod axle build. Took some time off for work and R/C oval racing.

Sold all my oval stuff and purchased a Ascender Bronco. Looking forward to some scale comps.

Been reading your guy's builds and they are inspiring.

Re: Glad to be back Bronco build

Had a little time tonight and found this video.

https://youtu.be/-NORRDxCuQM

Did these few little tips and made a big difference in how it performed.

Also removed the silver side trim to clean up the look.

Next on the agenda is class 1 tires so I can lower the body some more for a more scale look and pull the diffs and check shimming and clocking of the axles and shock mod.

Thanks to Natedog for his tips

Once I get the body where I want it, I can start making some bumpers.

Didn't get much done with the holidays.

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/923/fLTl02.jpg

Loving the truck, happy with my truck choice. Liking the look of the Class 1 tires, need to add another hole to each tire. Moved electronics and battery. Happy with the improvement so far. Got some SSD parts in today, hoping to get these on so I can test some more.

I'm not wanting mine to look like every other RTR out there. So changing it up. Starting to mock up the interior as well.

The Class one tires look great. I put a set on one of my crawlers recently and certainly prefer their appearance.

Look forward to seeing what you have in store for your Bronco. I also picked one of these up too when they were on close-out. Mine will be stock for awhile I suspect.

WIll be following this as well, as I just got my first Vaterra Ascender with the Bronco body as well. So far haven’t done much except follow that above YouTube video for adjust shocks and ride height. Not sure what to do next so hoping for some inspiration. Thanks for letting a total noob hop in the thread!

Re: Glad to be back Bronco build

I got my diffs shimmed and did the shock piston mod. I added my SSD diff covers, SSD heavy knuckles, SSD C hubs, Vaterra aluminum rear lockouts. nice improvement getting some weight down low. For a truck that performs great out of the box, little mods just make it better.

Going to start working on some bumpers, roof rack, and cage. Interior is coming along, need to find a driver and passenger. Hoping to get the body painted this week.

Sorry I haven't posted in while. Between a promotion at work and having a crazy busy fire season last year, I didn't get to do much. I bought some upgrade parts and they stayed in the box till last week.

I wanted something different from the rest of the Vaterra Broncos, so off came the roof.

I built a bracket to move the motor forward.

I got my slider/ floor pans started

Got some cage work started.

Very nice. Interested in seeing how you finish up the interior and attach it and the body to keep everything together but also be able to take it apart to remove battery etc. I started on a blazer build that I chopped the rear roof off like the factory trucks, made a cage but stalled on the interior because of trying to figure out a way to mount body and interior so it looked scale but also was functional to take apart and work on the chassis if needed.

I'll be adding factory style ribs in the bed floor to hide the cut.

Finished up the interior structure. Now start body working and detailing it. Finished up the last of the metal work with the front bumper.

Made some progress this weekend. Working on some of the details and waiting for my lights. Need to repaint the cage and bumper(cheap paint not sticking)
