Totally agree, it would be awesome to be able to add the grill/lights from the Suburban to the K10 without buying an entire body kit.

It makes sense that it would come with the light ready grill from now on, that’s the same grill used on the burb and the on road C10 car, so I would imagine that they have stop making the old grill. Sorry for starting the thread drift! Oh yeah! Your front bumper is really neat! |

I'm betting it will come with light buckets from now on! Just went over to one of those FB ascender pages and plenty of people showing off there new Rtr K10's and they all have light buckets. |

Neither of my K10's have the light buckets. I bought the truck from RPP and it's now a week old. My wife's dog decided to use the body as a chew toy, so I found a new body on Ebay and just got it yesterday and it does not have the light buckets also. Phooey, I was hoping to get lucky and have the light buckets on my replacement body Small side note- does anyone know how to get ahold of a mod or admin on this site? I tried to post my own thread about my truck as suggested by another member but it said my post needed to be approved and that was days ago.

That's unlucky cowboy! But now the secret is out, New K10 Ascenders come with the light bucket grill, so haggle with the hobby shops on price if they offer you old stock! |

I wonder when this happened. My buddy just got a K10 cab and it's the same as all the other - the thru-pin/screw mounting for the grill is right where a headlight would go.

Just did a really quick shake down run with the new bumper. Approach angles are not a problem anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well, I've run the truck enough now to follow up on the drawer-pull custom, low profile bumper. Conclusion: It bends. I guess I'm hard on my truck. Any decent hit to the outside corners of the bumper bends it. Disappointing, but not shocking. For now, I keep bending it back, but it will only get weaker and weaker. So, I can either replace the bumper as needed (requires cutting the mounts off the drawer-pull), or try to come up with a more durable bumper design. |

Cut up the stock bumper, CA glue end pieces back in to cap it off and coat inside of the CA glued area with ShoeGoo or E6000. As usual be sure to properly clean the glue areas first!

I’m going to try more beef. A little more front end weight never hurt, right? I picked up a pice of 3/8” steel square bar, and whacked a curve into it with a hammer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Ascender K10 Front Bumper Tuck It’s on. Once again I had serious issues drilling holes accurately. I clamped the old bumper to the new to use as a drilling template, but I guess it slipped. I guess I get too excited, and don’t double check things. Oh well, it’s attached. It sits straight this time, and I don’t have to shim the body crooked to line up with the bumper, so that’s something. The screws positions are just very asymmetric. Probably too much weight forward and when it goes for a really bad tumble it’ll probably bend the frame. I’ve not bent an Ascender frame yet, but I did bend my SCX10 frame pretty badly.

It's only logical, that if I make the bumper too strong to bend, the second strongest part will be the one to bend or break. I feel like I'm probably going to give you the chance to say "I told you so" on this one though.
