Try using the flat steel strips from your old windshield wiper rubbers, it's in Yeti.Stealth's thread with a couple pictures of guys Ascender that he crawls with (not his truck). Might be less work than making your own bar out of piano wire. If you've got a drillpress, you can jig up a machinist's vice to make piano wire bars like I did, keeps flats on both ends in the same plane.

Windshield wiper steel repurposing sounds interesting! I might have to give that a go on mine.

i shall give it a shot. Those strips are flat, though, right? Torsion would seem appropriate, tho...I will look thru that thread tonight, thanks as-usual, @Natedog Last edited by j3ff3ry_j33p; 06-14-2019 at 06:18 AM. Reason: meant to use the word ,"strips" but autocorrect decided to use ,"trips" & it made no sense that way. |

it works on mine with the wiper-blade insert strip metal @Yeti.Stealth build has . I guess I need to weigh mine ( it must be heavier than I think) since 1 strip barely made any difference : It was when I added a second strip along side the first that it made all the difference. Like this it all but completely minimizes TT, tho' I still think that the out-boarding of the rears shocks is contributing a good deal to it , still ... ( edit: I need to set spacers to each side between arms and frame-holes. it was perfect when I learned that the wiper blade strips are the exact width of the Vaterra frame rail holes . they slide right into them. ) thanks for the tips as usual! Glad the windshield wiper inserts swaybar is working for you! Doubling up on the spring steel pieces works for stiffening the bar action, but there are several other ways to do it. Shorter distance between arms on bar ends, shorter arms, contain the bars movement inside a tube (ie brass or nylon tubing) which forces the bar to twist more and less sideways deflection. |

awesome suggestions as usual, man. I have notied the distance apart you mention as well as horizonal leverage or pushing/pulling as-oposed-to twisting from evening out the contact points.

only by going back & re-reading this wealth of information in my own darn thread did it sink-in that the Trujillo shockmod was more than just adjusting the stock vaterra ascender or TH shocks so that the spring seperator on them didnt bind on the threads of the shockbody. derp. this is a huge mod that Id totally missed & misunderstood. Thanks for this.

I remember long ago seeing the metal strips that are embedded in the edge of decent wooden rulers and wondering if they'd make good scale leaf springs - they'd probably work good as swaybars, too! A whopping 25 cents for a foot-long length: https://www.officedepot.com/a/produc...E&gclsrc=aw.ds |

dude , after running two strips of the wiper blade extracted strips sideXside, I can confirm a more flexible material, probably like that ruler edger, would be very appropriate if you poloayed with it to figure out how many strips of whatever width was required for that weight rig. Way to think outside box, man,
