Default vaterra bronco

Just wanted to present how my bronco changed after many rides.
Still going super strong!
Didn't break anything and this truck took insane tumbles.
Love the way it goes over every obstacles!

New build!
The vaterra ascender bronco is on its way to become…something else!
I’m not sure yet what it will be, I have a toyota body to use but I want to keep the bronco’s short base with big wheels (1.9 pitbull growler) and the 110mm shocks.
It might definitely be a go anywhere truck! Time will tell…

I ended up with an ascender blazer almost by accident. My buddy offered it to me for $100. Had maybe 2 hours of use in his back yard. Anyway, I’ve been very impressed with this truck. Running a HW1080, traxxas 21T 550 on 3S and everything else stock. Crawls amazing. My son recently clipped a root on a trail and sent it down a 30ft embankment with a 20ft drop at the end into a rocky creek. Took me several minutes to get to it. Bent the left side rear bumper mounting screw. That’s it. I’m thoroughly impressed with the ascender!

The weathering on the body looks great!

It has been loooong, but it's done!
Here is the new version of the bronco.
Way better, it was a good crawler before, but now it's a lot better!

Mods done:
-same short wheelbase as the bronco, because it’s fun
-toyota SR5 proline body
-few parts from shapeways to make the front grill
-55t motor
-spektrum s6240
-110mm proline shocks
-1.9 pit bull growler
-1.9 gmade steel rims
-and many customs parts to make all this alive!

Super happy with it.

Looks good. Any plans for a rear cage?

Thanks, no I'll keep it like that. Looks like a car someone built with limited budget ;)
And I don't want to make too top heavy, I already have my d90 like that.
For this one, I kept weight as low as possible, I even placed steel parts here and there to lower center of gravity and it seems to work well.
I wanted something different than the d90 and my tf2.

That looks SOO good man! That little piece between the shock tower and rear bumper, is that styrene? I want to do something very similar with my Bronco body that’s been cut into a f250 cab.

It looks like a thin piece of sheet metal.

Exact, it's a piece of metal.

Latest iteration of the vaterra ascender bronco modifications:
Wheelbase has been extended to 28cms.
Rims painted red. Looks pretty rad!

I'm super happy with the performance, a stronger servo would be a good future option, but right now, the truck works great

One thing that is not too good, is the proline body, it's not very strong. For a lexan body, it's break very easily, I already had to make many patches, and I need to add more...
