High gear only

Has anyone did a high gear only from the Twin Hammers gearbox on the Ascender? I swapped to Axial AR44 axles and would like to regear the trans.

You can achieve the ratio you need by simply swapping the external pinion and spur. Exactly what you want will depend on your tire size, motor, and 2s or 3s. I'd suggest starting at 23/78 to get in the ballpark. Should give you a final drive of about 51:1, which is a hair slower than stock ascender final drive.

I'm thinking that's going to be the case. Someone suggested using the gears out of the Twin Hammers desert truck for the high gear but it doesn't look to be a simple swap of gears.
