Default Grifff’s Ascender Build

I bought my ascender about a year ago with little knowledge to do with RC crawlers. I got a K10 RTR and took it camping a few times but haven’t really had to time to take it out or get fully involved in the hobby. I’m pretty sure I actually raised the body when I got it to make it look cool Needless to say it use to roll a lot. I have now found time in my life to slot the RC addiction into place and get the ball rolling. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on this wonderful forum and the ascender guys seem like a great bunch of people.
I have come to my senses and the first thing I did was lower the body by softening the suspension just enough to retain the springs. WOW. I was absolutely mind blown by the increase performance. Crawling up things saying to myself “how the **** is it doing that?!” Time after time tackling obstacles I thought were not possible. Watching the suspension articulate is also very pleasant on the eyes.

Thats actually Eastern Creek for you aussies.

I have found myself using toothpicks as body clips at desperate times. Hey, whatever keeps you rolling.

The Ascender is great, I love mine. Glad to hear you are enjoying it so much.

Yup, there have been plenty of times I’ve rolled my K10 up to an obstacle, and thought, no way will it make it, only to see it crawl up without a tire breaking traction!

They are amazing little trucks! I've had mine for a few years now tweaking it here and there. My favorite truck. For my daughter's birthday last year, I built her a WB4 and let her pick the body/color. Its all stock, so I could see what a stock one could do. Its almost unsettling how good it is. This with an 11 year old girl driving it! BTW, mine started as a K10 like yours. Have fun!
