Badger probably nailed it. It'll act like neutral when it's not fully in 1st or 2nd gear.
thank you both!!!! i took the cover/roll cage off, and i found the arm that goes from a servo to that tranny gear or whatever, and got it clicked back into place. now the the wheels move again
that arm seems to be stuck, or it doesn't move when i click the shift up/down button on the remote. so it's stuck in high gear
i think that shift servo seems dead, so i'll check the other threads to purchase an upgrade

yes, i know, welcome to RC cars lol

Cool. I wouldn't buy another shift servo, I would buy a new stronger/faster steering servo and use the stock steering servo for shifting. I can make you the mount for it.

The stock steering servo has been working great as the shifting servo for several hours of run time so far.

yeah, i read your post about that
i'll definitely have to get that figured out. i'm cool with it being stuck in high gear for now. i can do crawling with my jeep for the time being

I have not adjusted the slipper at all, it's still in the stock setting which seems to be tight enough to be considered locked. It may have prevented the transmission gear failure if the slipper was set a little looser, I think it would also help make it a little more controllable off the line with all the power it has.

The low end control is good with the Tekin ROC 412 3100kv and the stock gearing. You could always go to a smaller pinion then the stock 28t for even more low end control if you plan on crawling more then going fast.

Thanks. It's my pleasure to help out the members of RCC with my threads pictures & videos.

Your setup looks like it should be nice. I'm curious to hear how your nitro throttle linkage with dual springs works.

What are the dimensions between the rear shock towers?

I'm trying to figure out if I could mod a Twin Hammers to fit my 5000mah hardcase Lipos.

I only have 5000mah hardcase batteries and wouldn't necessarily like to buy more just for this truck.

Any tips on fitting a 1/10 scale servo where the shifting servo is? Horizon is sending me a replacement for my fried OE shifting servo but I wanted to move the OE steering servo over to shifting duties.

Related question-
Does the Hitec mg225 directly replace the OE shifting servo? What about the steering linkage/horn?

Thanks for all the pics and videos , badger!

Are you run a RS or an RS Pro. Curious on the temp. Was thinking of running a Pro4 3300kv and a RX8 in mine. But don't know if it would be much faster then yours. After watching the video. The ROC 412 3100kv looks pretty fast as it is. Also are you running the esc in dual-mode or sensored only.

This is a 1.9 rig.

The RX8 is a big ESC and the Pro4 is absolute overkill.

RS Pro and ROC 412 should be a great combo.

I doubt you'll even need the RSpro. RS works just fine.

Do you think that running the heavy diff grease for the most part will be ok, really not wanting to lock in diif but at the same time I need to be able to climb. Thx for all the time and info you have shared with all of us...Doc

I could jam one of my 5000mAh hardcase Lipo's between the rear shock towers but it still won't slide down properly in front of the spare tire. Even if it did fit I wouldn't run that big of a pack, seems like it would throw off the balance at high speeds and also not help with crawling with all that weight up high in the rear of the rig.

I suggest keeping the shift linkage as straight as possible to the shift rod to prevent binding.

I don't have a Hitec 225mg servo so I don't know if it is a direct replacement for the EO shifting servo. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Thanks.

Clutter up my 26 page thread. No worries at all as long as people are getting their questions answered.

I'm running an RS. I can add a temp gauge to the RS ESC and run it hard to see what the max temp gets to. So far I've had no issues at all with the performance of the RS w/ ROC 412 3100kv motor even after running battery after battery so I agree with JIA and DTP, I don't think you'll need a RS Pro.

Depends on how heavy the diff grease is. I would want it at least as heavy as the Kyosho 500K diff oil for me to be happy with it. The good thing is that the front diff is extremely easy to get to so you can try out different greases/oils until your happy with the performance.
