There is also an issue with the o-ring. This info is straight from the horse's mouth. Last edited by illthreat; 02-22-2013 at 08:31 AM.

I set my EPA's correctly and its hasn't died yet. But i noticed yesterday when i turn my tx off with the car still on that the shift servo freaks out and tries to shift back into first. So I just make sure to turn the car off first then the TX (which is what you SHOULD do anyways but i've always been sloppy on that since 2.4ghz radios came out and my cars stopped jumping off the workbench haha) Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |

I think where most people are having problems is having to use the stock radio pots to adjust the EPAs. Although it is a decent radio, it is not optimal for setting up the shift servo. You really need a radio that allows you to fine tune these adjustments digitally. I am using the DX3S and it makes setting it up a breeze. Just my two cents worth.

The problem is multifaceted. 1. Epa not correctly set 2. Tx settings not consistent 3. O-ring 4. New product on the market Peace

I have mine setup with a 3 POSITION switch on a DX4S My rig stays in neutral and rolls free when not running and stays in the perfect neutral position when turned on. Before I start to drive I can decide what gear to shift into and it engages nice even when stopped. When on the fly just 2 quick clicks a let off the throttle a little, very smooth.Stock servo works fine I work at a hobby store and even though I had heard of the issue I pulled one out to use as a demo rig and to see how it would work right outa the box without touching a thing. Worked good for about 4 packs before the servo died but the thing I noticed everytime was no matter what position it's in every time you switch it on it twitches or clicks twice and tries to engage again and depending how smooth it engages the servo is under strain of coarse until the truck moves slightly and it fully locks in.Otherwise the end points were ok. |
