I am for now. I'm starting to get the TH in crawler mode finding what setup works best. I'm not sure if I'll go all the way down to a 22t pinion cause I still want to have some good top end speed. Who knows, once I get it properly setup for crawling it might handle like crap at high speed so I may want to gear it down with a 22t pinion like you did.

On another note seems my tranny let go in my TH, havent had it apart yet but guessing its the idler gear ?
Bareing in mind its grossly over powered and I deleted the slipper in favor of 32pitch gearing and let a buddy drive it whom isnt exactly smooth with his throttle finger.
Thanks. Yeah it's more then likely the idler gear in the tranny. Vaterra Transmission Molded Gear Set: TWH

Last time I ran mine at Coyote Hills I thought I stripped out the tranny idler gears again but it ended up just being a stipped spur gear. It did not sound like a stripped spur gear at all which is what made me think it was the tranny again.

Thanks. No, the 50% mode on the VXL would not help at all with slow speed crawling, it will still cog bad. The VXL training mode just limits full throttle to 50% for the Hawaiian drivers who like to drive on freeways at 50% of the speed limit.

That's one of my most hoped for upgrades. I hope it happens soon. Tearing that tranny down is a bit tedious.

We went up to Aiea loop trail on saturday & top speed was still decent, just not ballistic like it was.

I JB welded mine.... I would rather it break loose than to break an axle or Cvd.

Maybe there were some out drives and dog bones sent out with an improper heat treat? It wouldn't surprise me at all. My dog bones are holding up fine but my out drive cups are apparently softer than they should be. The slots for the dogbone pins are wallowing out, for lack of a better term.

How do you glue front to act like locker?

Silly putty works good and is removable.

Open the diff, clean out the grease, pour in epoxy, bolt back together, let cure 24 hours.

Nope, it'll let loose sooner rather than later. Seen a few already.

I'm not surprised this is happening...unfortunately...

Horizon, could we please get some quality control? Thanks. Hope they get this fixed, but this is why I didn't run out and buy one right away.

Letting loose sooner rather than later is the idea. It works if your not trying to make this thing a dedicated crawler. It works for what I'm using the TH for and Im not breaking any parts with a Pro4.

Agreed, I'm useing 500K and pretty happy with it. A buddy of mine put in the F locker and he's haveing issues of the dog bones ejecting also.

AS awesome as the kit is, it is a wonder they used dog-bones at all and not universals or CVDs.

They are CVDs at the knuckle side but dog bone and cup at the diff.

I used silly putty (well, fimo clay) and it makes a great fuse. Almost acts as a slipper clutch or like a ratcheting locker.
