For those that want to run my config as a start on their Tekin RS ESC with ROC 412 motor, you can download my config using the below link (right click, save as) and the attached setup sheet. http://www.rccrawler.com/files/Twin_...Badger_v223.rs Last edited by badger; 03-08-2013 at 12:07 PM. |

[QUOTE=razors 33;4216490]what do you gents think about the tazer hop up power units being offered now? If you only want to go fast maybe the price would be tempting. This rig is still cool to crawl with and a sensored system is essential, that cancels it out. I too have cooked plenty of cheap combo's and now stay with the brands I know and trust. |

the delay is built into the ESC so you don't break electronics or drivetrain parts, it has smart stop, in order to go into reverse I think it needs to see neutral for 1 second or something, easy fix I did was turn on crawler mode in the ESC, it gives instant reverse (Warning: You Will destroy your drivetrain if you punch reverse while doing max speed in second) there will be no delay in throttle or reverse ever, making it feel nice and smooth, and it also gives more of a drag brake also, so what I have learned to do is just let off the throttle and it stops itself quite quickly. Also my lipo cutoff was turned off from factory (Wtf.. it comes with a lipo!) so I had to enable it in the ESC settings. Heres a link to the manual http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/VTR03000_Manual_EN.pdf Last edited by matt889; 03-08-2013 at 04:51 PM. |

I'll have to go over mine with a fine tooth comb and change esc settings because how else are you supposed to stop fast in Stock configuration? I hope the esc settings are in manual.. |

i gave a link to the manual, it says how to do it all through remote programming, also, in stock configuration it does stop quickly with the smart brake, however u CANNOT stop quickly once you put it in crawler mode, you must rely on the drag brake to mostly stop then you can tap reverse when its going quite slow, you can imagine.. with a real car, picture no brakes, using only down-shifting to stop (makes me think of the old days with my dirtbike, no brakes, stopping by down-shifting only hehe) if you slam the car into reverse at 20 kmh, what will happen? hehe |

Ya the online manual says its set for lipo cutoff but my hard copy that came in the box says its set for NiMH so I reprogrammed and hooked up my low voltage alarm for safe measure.... I also noticed that the hard copy is missing som for the programming stuff so I downloaded the esc instructions from horizon.

Thanks for all the help guys I took her for a, rip tonight bone stock out of box and if was fun, dark so nothing to over the top. Took her back inside all dirty and began preventative mods Figured out how to effectively remove the lid lol Did shifting servo end point adjustment and reversed directions of high and low. My esc was in nimh mode so I changed to lipo I also softened up front spring rate. I noticed in hard banked corners whie in high she wanted to roll quite a bit. I'll have to figure that out. I'm likely gunna take it out and test it good. . |

| Re: Badger's Vaterra Twin Hammers 1.9 Rock Racer The first reason is timing boost and turbo cannot be used while in D2 (Dual Drive) Mode. The second reason is because Ty @ Tekin said that it is not necessary to run advanced timing with 4-pole brushless motors. Quote:

Sorry for more questions guys I am hoping someone could recommend some better servos for the twin hammers that can be purchased at Amainhobbies. I know I am a pain but I don't really know which servos to get that aren't way over priced. In particular my steering servo is starting to go I think Weak and hardly wants to return to center, maybe all the donuts I've been doing are not good for it lol |

Neither can be purchased. Don't let the price point fool you. I have ran these servos for months with daily abuse with zero failure. Both are quick to respond and center perfectly without error. Last edited by ProjectSCX10; 03-11-2013 at 10:04 AM. | |
