Always remember "you get what you pay for." I would stay away from the cheaper chinese made servos. But I am a "do it right the first time" type of person. For a happy medium I would go with Savox. If money is no object, go for the metal gear higher end Hitec units. Just my $.02 |

| Re: Badger's Vaterra Twin Hammers 1.9 Rock Racer It is true but sometimes once a company builds a name they cut cost and in turn reduce quality yet the price remains the same. So your assuming that just because we experiment or try different product you dont support , Then we are doing it wrong? So apparently you have never done R&D? We are the people that make it possible for you to make the right choice the first time. Just my .03 |

But having come from trying the less expensive brands, then moving on to try the higher end manufacturer's parts I try to share my experience which is what you in so many words just stated, try it then decide. I feel I shared a fair warning. Trust me when I say I threw a little chunk of money around over the past couple decades trying to find the "budget servo to be all servos." I only recently got into crawlers/scalers and put this experience to good use. Do it once, do it right. The traxxas, tower pro and solar servos I have used did not in any way stand up to the performance claims they advertised. The once brand that really impressed me for the money was Hobbico. I dont feel the quality of any of the Hitec and Savox products I utilize have somehow degraded to the quality of a cheap nearly disposable <$20 servo over time whether by abuse or by cost cutting in the manufacturing process. High horse much? Dayum. Last edited by gbean; 03-11-2013 at 01:09 AM. | |

SOLAR FTFW (for the freaking win). Solars are just as superior as hitec or savox. Only down side I could say is they are a little noisy when sitting. I rest my case. Thats my $1,000,000 opinion. I'll delete my post Kzzican |

I thought I try a solar and went to order it and they want to charge me $12 to ship it that's ridiculous. Didn't they used to have like a six dollar parts option for shipping? |

Well maybe I will try a solar servo next time. If i ever kill this 1230sg. It seems very stout after two months of hard abuse.

| Re: Badger's Vaterra Twin Hammers 1.9 Rock Racer I ordered one from Nitrorcx.com same company but that site offered a flat rate of 9.99 to ship parts. Hope it's as good as you guys say..I've burnt up all the cheap ones I've used in the past but this has the best specs of all the cheap ones that I've tried. I typically use hitec 7954 or 7950 models. Hope this is similar.

Yeah maybe a little cleanup is in order. Maybe the OP can chime in here on servo opinion. |
