Just a heads up, I see that Robinson Racing now has a good range of 5mm 48p pinions. My experience with 48p and 4poles isnt good tho (SC10 4wd) Maybe a 32p or mod1 spur will be the best setup.

I think the main issues/differences here would be:

• Cost, A summit is twice the cost of the Vaterra

• Size The summit is HUGE by comparison which might limit some people

• Probable cost of spares(if its linear with price of vehicle to spares, overall maintenance should be cheaper on the vaterra for spares)
  
• Upgrades/power plant, The cost of a 1/10th brushless motor is MUCH MUCH cheaper and there is a much wider selection out there, than for 1/8th (or monster 1/10th) scale cars

Not much of that stands to be the case when I you take into account that a Summit was designed to be huge and out of proportion. You put those big tires on this truck and your asking for a torn up wasted machine.
