Hey John, could you help me understand the diff fluid viscosity? I was looking on RPP for 500,000 weight and didn't see anything, looked like 70k was the thickest. Am I just mis reading numbers here? Thanks Clay |

| Re: Badger's Vaterra Twin Hammers 1.9 Rock Racer Diff oils are listed by cst or by wt. The 500,000 is a cst rating. It would be comparable to a 45k-50k wt oil. depending on which conversion factor you go by.

Traxxas makes some to but I don't know how good it is. Traxxas Differential Oil (500,000) Or you can try some Racers Edge Differential Locking Putty Edit: Just found Hudy's 1 million cSt diff oil which was released Dec 18th 2012. Just trying to find a shop in the US to buy it. ElBandito found Gravity RC's Silicone Diff Fluid - 1 million cSt Last edited by badger; 02-11-2013 at 10:29 AM.

Thanks. That's what I needs to know. Was hoping to give Cory some more money though.

WooHooo. The local LHS just called and they finially have them in stock, one with my name on it. This will be my first surface RC vehicle and I'm hoping it doesn't take to many resources away for the air side of the hobby. Thanks for all the info in this thread and I'm sure I'll be pestering for more info in the coming weeks. |

I don't know how you come up with 45k-50k wt oil is comparable to 500,000. I'm not even going to ask about your conversion factor.

Got some coming, it's a bit pricier than the Traxxas brand but I'll trust you since I have no experience with the stuff. Thought about locking the diff but think this will be the ticket for overall control and reliability. Thanks for the info and links |

Just read the whole thread, great pics and lotsa of good info thanks Badger. Im picking up my TH this friday, looking forward to it greatly. I will be dropping a Tekin SC4X 550 3000kv and MMP running 3s, should be potent and smooth. I also have a RC4WD Axial 2sp trans (the alum cased steel geared one) might have to see if it fits just for shits and giggles ? |
