Thumbs up Rubba's Vaterra Twin Hammer

Just unboxed it without video

First I would like to thank Horizon/Vaterra/Losi for the opportunity to test and give feedback during the prototype stage. There was about a dozen Twin Hammers floating around the World all with great reviews from the Pilots. Now it's alive and out for the masses to enjoy

I've had 2 years with this badass Rock Racer during the testing stages. Jumping, bashing, crawling and launching it over things was my objective.

Being into R/C for 26+ years this was the one rig that never disappointed me ever pack I ran. With a Locked rear diff you can tear up the grass in the yard or speed up some insane climbs with ease. The smiles and laughter never faded away, they just got more intense

Once I start tearing this up I'll post some of the things I've changed. It's been a while since I've ran it stock so starting from the RTR platform is exciting . I've played with many different shock springs, oil and locations so tuning it to a variety of terrain was a great experience to have.

So... here's the only pic I have so far chillin' on the BBQ waiting to dump some packs.

That is largely dependent on your trigger finger

I'm keen to know what motors you experimented with, in particular 4 poles......

Only ran a VXL on 3s. Geared it down to a 26 tooth (28 is stock)

The gearbox and Diffs can handle more power but it's too fast to drive straight. I'll try the swaybars when they come out, this should really help keep it stable at high speeds.

I know ... but as a boy I had a Tamiya car which could only be run for 6-7 minutes ... it was not fun.
So it's just whether I should expect 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes driving time?

I use 2200mah lipos in my scx10's and get like 2hrs per pack with my light trigger finger.

I'd bet if you run it as purely a low gear crawler and id bet you'd get 50+ mins.

Run it as a high gear trophy truck baja-ing around the yard and get 15 mins

Think we can hand the power of the Pro4 on 3s?

As long as it's 540 size. Others tested the Twin Hammers on a 8000kv motor on 2s . That's freaking fast..... too fast!
