Maybe ditch the roof idea, chop the windshield frame down same height or so as the cage and possibly do a soft top?

No, I've got a good idea what I'm gonna do with the roof. The soft top would destroy the look I'm going for. The frame will get trimmed some still.

Glad I happened across your build - wife just asked the other night if a Bug body would hit her TH.
If you look at Super beetles - they have a more flat upper windshield.

Ok, so I've been thinking about this since I picked it up on Saturday. Would Mini Trophy trailing arms fit? I really want to run a dual shock set-up on the back. So I took some old ones I had lying around and guess what, they do! They need to be modified to work correctly and you lose a tiny bit of articulation. But they work! Whip up a new upper shock mount, get a longer drive shaft and BAM!

It adds about an inch in length, so if you're doing more bashing, awesome! For crawling? I'm not an expert but I feel like the extended wheelbase would work against you. Also, adding that inch makes the Mini Trophy body almost fit perfectly! Just a bit of trimming required.

So, now I've got to buy another TH so I can do this too? Dammit Horizon!!!!

Also, I've just mocked everything up to see if it would work. Driveline angle and such are wrong.

So those are just the stock trailing Arms from the hpi mini trophy truck?

My TWH was bought from the beginning to be a trophy truck so I'm very interested in this mod.

Also what did you need to modify to get them to fit?

And if possible an eye to eye measurement of the length of the trailing Arms would rock!!!

The ends on the chassis side are just a bit too wide so they need to be sanded down to fit. As for the measurement, I believe the TH ones are 4.5" from eye to eye and the MT ones are 5.5" from eye to eye. I'll check again tonight when I get home from work.
