| heinie_21 's twin hammers - to - trophy truck
Got me a twin-hammers-mobile. When they were first released I instantly thought of a trophy truck. Similar to the vanquish trophy trucks that are neat but too pricey for me to build. I plan on really just using the rigs already trophy truck like features and somehow throwing a hpi mini trophy truck body on there after extending the rear wheelbase. Hopefully someone will come out with a rear 4 link kit that looks as cool as the stock links and opens it up to running 4 rear shocks. Wonder if the rc4wd links would work? Anyways this won't be a quick build because it's actually rc project #3 or #4 at the moment for me. But it's the winter and i get bored so i bought one now instead of after the other projects get done. So here's the pics. I bound it to my DX3C and got the shift servo tuned correctly. I took off the roof panel cuz it's uggo. Then I drifted around my wood floor and chased my mini schnauzer around. It's pretty quick! Last edited by heinie_21; 02-12-2013 at 01:25 AM. |

just took it off some snow jumps i made for my EXO a couple weeks ago. There's two double jumps. one is about 15 feet long and just crazy ridiculously high air (the exo has a hard time clearing this one) and the other is a double that is about 5 feet long. it's fairly low and fast. The TWH stock electronics full throttle in 2nd gear clears the double absolutely PERFECTLY. it made me giggle with joy. it's like i built the jump specifically for the TWH. SO FUN. It is too dark to get video. i'll get a cell phone video in the morning.

is it weird to anyone else that you charge the lipo through the "balancing" plug rather than the blue plug?? that seems weird to me.

I looked all over that bloody charger about 3 times looking for another plug before I threw it in a drawer. I doubt it will ever see the light of day again !

wasn't a big fan of the decals on the side so i took them off. Also didn't like the spare tire location. It kept hitting the ground when climbing my couch so i moved it. This is a fun little RC. when i get un-lazy i'm gonna take my EXO hood off and see if it can be rigged up on the front of the TWH. i ordered a CC SV3 from RPP (california) for this rig so that it would get here before the rig did, but i guess USPS thought maybe there was a city called "Utah" in Maine of all places. It jumped across THE ENTIRE country in one day. I was so confused as to where the heck it was, I had to look up what state "ME" stands for! Maybe it will find it's way to me tomorrow or wednesday at the latest i'm hoping because I'd like to run 3s |

I ordered a set of Shocks last week, shipped from Reno, NV to NYC. For some reason the shipment went past NY and ended up in Connecticut then to Springfield Massachusetts. To get to those states you have to pass NY... I don't get it. And there was a Blizzard up in New England so i'm not sure when I'm getting these shocks. I hope my Twin Hammers takes a more direct route. BTW - RPP needs an east coast warehouse. Free Shipping from Cali seems to take forever. |

| Re: heinie_21 's twin hammers - to - trophy truck My brother got me a heli for xmas that charged that way in stock form. I thought it was weird at first also, but it worked until the little wall charger shat out on me...

It's for the second spare. I bet there is a spot for a second shift servo too,....but they only gave you one to burn out. |

| Re: heinie_21 's twin hammers - to - trophy truck I flipped the spare tire mount upside down to make room for the spare to be moved forward and tucked into the cage a bit for lower COG. The spare-holder-bolt will likely get chopped off IF i decide i like the spare location. Until then, i've got a dangler. |

I like the spare tire relocation. Mine will be here Thursday, so this may be my first mod.
