Default ORA's Hammer - battery tray/spare tire mod

So, I am going through some mods on the O'Hammer and did not like the way the stock battery tray lower support was hitting on the axle pumpkin leaving about 3/16 of available suspension unobtainable. So I decided to mod the tray to something more appropriate for full suspension compression.

Here is what I did;
1st I chopped the frame removing the tire holder and rear bumper section from the upper battery tray bolt and the lower angular point (not sure of term) below the number plate leaving the triangulation intact.

Notice the drop in the battery tray frame support. Under compression this hits the axle's pumpkin leaving about 3/16 inch of unacceptable travel. (Forgot to take compression shots)

Pulled the tray out and broke off the tray extension that connects to the lower frame between the shocks.

I cut the screw tabs and threaded through the hole all the way.
I then created a forward support from 3/16 brake line and used standard bolts and Nylock nuts and threaded into the brake line. I plan on brazing standard nuts (once I learn how to do that) for a more secure hold. but for now I have extra long bolts in there.
I used a couple zip-ties to pass through the stock Velcro strap slot to hold the tray to the new brace.

Due to the battery tray mod and still wanting a spare tire I needed to relocate the tire mount. Why not the roof!?! Yeah, it will raise the COG a bit, but still want it. I can remove it if I need to.
I took a couple zip-ties to connect to the shock cross brace bar. Seems to fit nicely. Still need to bend down the rearward tabs to help hold it in place but still be able to allow for a pivot point if I want to get at the lights.

Added the Axial EXO rear light bar. (Light bar mod)

2s battery mock-up. Works ok. The 3s packs I have are shorter and fit better.

Just need to do some zip-tie trimming and tab bending for the tire rack and this is complete!
Runs ok on 2s and no worries of flip-over. 3s, not so much. wheelies like crazy. Might need a wheelie bar on the back to keep it settled.

Looks good, but that soft case lipo looks a little exposed for my liking.

+1 I agree.. You should at least cover it with some sort of panel. It needs protection, if you do not want firey twin hammer
