Default Transmission

Hi guy's
i got a noise coming from my transmission i need to pull apart have a look.
should it have grease in it? can u get steel gears?

Whats the easyest way to slow it down as i do more crawling/rock bashing so i dont need the speed...smaller pinion?

Tie it to a brick.
I kid!
Assuming you are just using stock motor you can increase spur size or decrease the pinion (Spur Divided by pinion = gear ratio.) the greater the number the slower it will go "just a guideline."
Play with sizes till you find your speed

I took mine apart and it was dry. I like to lube the gears in my trannys. There is no steel gears at the moment besides the top gears in the trans that it comes with. Yes a smaller pinion will slow you down.

lightly grease the trans gears and just toss 32p gears 56T spur 12T pinion. that should be crawler status with the stock motor.

32p is def. the strongest way to go but the stock combo wont stress out a 48p . I ran a 20t pinion and there is room to go to probably 18t. This is SLOOOW.
I got jack of it sliding around on its slippery belly and went back to stock gearing on 3S.
When I want to crawl I get my Wraith out

You need a bigger spur. Maybe a 54 or 56. The bigger the spur the slower it will go.
