Default Stock motor, 3s

Is anyone running the stock dynamite 15t motor on 3s? I have a sidewinder to install and want to try 3s.
Thanks!

I hope you have sway bars... My 3s experience with the stock motor and a sidewinder was an indicator to adjust the suspension.

No sway bars yet. Still playing on the rocks with it. Plan on picking up a Holmes hobbies motor for it down the road.

Yup. Tried it. Fried it.

Fast though, for about two minutes, and then the smoking started..

The Holmes motors are a much better choice if You insist on using 3s.

I, however prefer my trusty LRP 10.5t stock-spec on 2s. Plenty fast for me, and due to the sensored construction, very precisely drivable.

Ouch that doesn't sound promising. Was hoping to get a few runs before the motor died.

@tklatti

Then You are luckier than me. I opened up the can (just to see how bad it was burned) and one brush completely fell apart in metallic-black-like dust, collector had a beautiful deep-blue patina (means it had overheated) and a winding had come loose, end looked molten..

That'll teach me...

I know a few ppl running the stock 15t on teken fxr and 3s with good luck. THE MOTORS GET HOT. If you want it to last you need to let it cool in between packs. And try not to run longer than 10 to 15 min. I know its tough but you cant just beat on it like a truggy or sct. I would also step down a couple teeth in pinion if you can.

It wont be as fun but it will last longer for sure
