Default VP Rigid light bar question

OK I have a question about wiring an LED light bar. I picked up a VP Rigid light bar. This light is meant to run off of a 3s Lipo. The electronics on my Twin Hammers is stock so I am only running 2s. The question is I have a battery similar in size to the Hammers battery and it is 3s. Can i run the light straight off of this batter or will this cause damage? i know I could wire in an on/off switch but for now is it ok to power it off of its own dedicated battery?

The VP light is meant to run off the power supply. ( the battery) not the receiver. You can hook it directly to your 3s battery or use a y adapter and run it off your 2s. It's a heck of a lot brighter on 3s 11.1v.

Thanks for the reply. I tried it off of both battery types and it's WAY brighter off of the 3s.

you can run it on a stand alone 3s battery..i run mine off a 450-800mah battery..small enough to fit under/behind cockpit cover.
