|  Outbound shock set-up on the cheap
If you want to try out an outbound shock setup for little or no money, here's what I came up with.  It's the rear shock hoops from an SCX10 attached to the frame with a few spacers. I wanted to put a few packs through this setup before posting and I'm amazed at how durable it is. I've bashed the heck out of it and only had to make a minor adjustment after a head on tree collision.  |

Looks good  have you considered grinding off the body post mounts to clean them up a little.

Wow! You may have just cracked a code. I'm sure some people's jaw just dropped. Even though I spent the money on my first production shock hoops. I will have to give this a try. Keep us update!

What did you use for the cross members? And can you still use the stock shocks with this mod.

The stock shocks are too short. I suppose you could use them with a long rod end on the bottom, but you'd have limited travel. I used some plastic EXO 95mm shocks I had lying around. | |

Well I've bashed the hell out of this set up long enough now to call this a worthwhile mod. I've crashed and cartwheeled dozens of times and its no worse for wear. Running the G-Made 93mm diaphragms in the front currently, much better than the EXO plastics I was using. Front and rear suspension action feels very well balanced now. 40wt oil front and rear.  |

Like this mod a lot!!! But i cant see how you have bolted the hoops to the cage, are they just clamped on with the spacers? |
