Panko's Twin Hammers Hey guys, I have a vaterra twin hammers. I bought it new as a stock unit, but have since then, as we all, have modified it. I've tried to keep it looking relatively stock with some minor mods. anyway, I will let the pictures do the talking as best they can. Re: Panko's Twin Hammers The list of mods (that i can remember off the top of my head) Full alloy front steering/suspension upgrade from Hot Racing. this is including an alloy steering rack, however did not make the steering slop better, but did make it move easier BMRC upright shock plate, King 80mm front shocks alloy front nudge bar with winch mount. Bought from RC4WD Front windscreen from BMRC Vanquish Products/Rigid industries 2" LED bar up front. all the electronics have been replaced. HPI Racing waterproof ESC. Hitech steering and shift servo, but i stuffed the steering servo again :( so will be upgrading to a savox soon. I have just ordered my new rims and tyres :) you will have to wait and see them. Future mods will be rear suspension upgrade, BMRC Truss VTH, steering upgrade to get rid of that slop. and maybe a 6" LED bar across the roof, so i can start doing some proper night crawling :) |

Re: Panko's Twin Hammers Thanks guys. Yeah the windsheild just adds that bit more to the scale look. The LED bar is great, but not really good enough on its own for proper night crawling. I should have spent the extra money and bought a 6" roof mount led bar. I might still do that later in addition to this one. |

Re: Panko's Twin Hammers Yeah sure is torque twist. If the spare wheel was off, it wouldnt be as bad. But BMRC make that alloy block for the upper rear arms, aparently it stops the torque twist. Slightest bit of throttle on a steep climb like this, and this happens. Put it this way, it makes you learn how to control the throttle to stop it from back flipping haha |
Re: Panko's Twin Hammers I've never had any type of torque twist like that with mine. Did it do it before you raised up the back end? That block is made my gcm and it sells for 35 dollars from bmrc because it comes out of Canada. |

Yeah man it did it before as well. Ive only raised the back a touch, to counter act the weight of the 2 batteries in the tray. One battery is a saddle pack shorty to run the car, the other is a small aircraft battery to run the LED bar. So once they are both in, it sags down anyway I might have to make a block myself as well. |

Re: Panko's Twin Hammers Well so far, i havent been able to test it. Its been raining, so i go to go crawling, and it just wants to spin the wheels :( i can say though, that on flat from a standing start, it still pops onto the back wheels under hard acceleration, i dont think ill ever stop that. It is however, kicking the front wheels down when it pops them up. It used to pop the front wheels up in the air, then hold them up until it picked up sleed, well now it pops them up, then forces the nose down straight away. Now all i need is a dry day, to go test it climbing that storm drain again ^^^ that will give me the answer. It was pretty easy to make, i just struggles getting the holes lined up bahaha. I measured it all up while the car was still together. Any wonder my holes didnt initially line up hahaha |
