Wheelbyte's Twin Hammers Got back into RC's awhile back spent the last year or so building up a couple 2WD Slash's for my son and I to have fun with... its been a blast. A few months ago I purchased a Twin Hammers as I was looking for something a little more scale and would be fun to trail as well as go out with my kids and still bash once in awhile. Finally decided it was time to start a build thread. Started with ESC and motor upgrade alonf with Aluminum hex's and 500K diff fluid. MMP & Tekin ROC412 3100kv http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH1.jpg http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH2.jpg I originally shot the stock body with PlastiDip while it looked cool it did not hold up all that well http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH5.jpg I recently added the Derwood front shock mount along with their steering kit. I am also running 90mm Kings up front and the 110mm Faux PiggyBacks out back http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH11.jpg http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH6.jpg I also added a Jevine Racing battery tray along with some Carter Fab panels http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH7.jpg http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH8.jpg http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH9.jpg I recently got some GearHead Sixer Beadlocks and am going to run the RC4WD Mickey Thompson 4.19 Baja Claws http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH10.jpg Will have to post more photos once I get them mounted up...... |
Re: Wheelbyte's Twin Hammers That's a nice transformation. Rims look great. |

Re: Wheelbyte's Twin Hammers i have have heard nothing bad about this motor, so im gonna order it. Are u running sensored? if so does it crawl well with no cogging? im just running the velineon temporary in my TH till i find the motor i like, and im sure its the roc412 3100kv |
Re: Wheelbyte's Twin Hammers Be cautious with those 90mm shocks. You'll have too much downstroke on jumps and the front CV's will pop out unless you internally limit them. Quite a few people have had that happen ...myself included :( |

Re: Wheelbyte's Twin Hammers So did a few more upgrades..... Blue Monkey Stage 2 Suspension Kit -Upper Ti Links -Lower dual mount arms -upper shock mounting kit -added RC4WD ultra scale 110mm shocks to run as damperners. Removed the internal spring and added 20wt oil to them http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH14.jpg http://www.wheelbyte.com/b_board/TH15.jpg |
