My version of the twin hammers...... Upgraded parts include.... GCM front shock plate/battery tray, GCM suspension truss, upgraded steering servo, proline beadlocks, rc4wd boggers, front diff locker, hot racing rear suspension towers, gmade 85mm diaphragm shocks, custom panels......... A full size 4200 2s battery sits up front on the GCM shock plate, tightly between the factory cage rails and up against the gearbox at the rear.) This adds substantial stability at speed on flat ground, and all the weight forward for crawling, but when braking it wants to flip forward. Front tyres are cambered substantially. This adds a noticeable advantage at cornering at speed, plus it allows the side lugs of the boggers to find the tiny holes while crawling. Matched with a very light weight rear end (and heavy front end), Corning is very responsive. Having .2mm steel panels gives me an advantage of panel beating and adds a touch of realism to rollovers and and scrubbing...... It also allowed me to make a bonnet that caters to and supports the large battery. The suspension truss seems to actively drive the front end down instead of wanting to do wheelies, matched with the forward weight, it means that traction stays at all 4 wheels and acceleration is improved. I'm playing with motor options, and will be playing with gear ratios.... I'm wanting the best of both worlds, crawling AND speed with handling Aiming to be a crawler capable of taking it to the ultra 4s |

Looks great! I might have to try that trick with the front wheels too. Also how does it do on jumps with that bat in front?

I'm not one for jumping... I like speed, handling, and I wanted a vehicle that can hold its own crawling too... Battery up front gives me great stability at speed, all wheels on the ground for acceleration, and the crawling ability has improved beyond measure! I've also noticed better handling with the battery being up front.... It still likes to flip on high speed sharp corners, but if you drive it like a 1:1 car, slow in fast out, it's no problem at all... The only BIG negative for the battery being up front, is heavy breaking from speed..... It likes to lift the arse end and flip.... The heavy camber on the wheels was great for high speed gravel and for crawling on sedimentary rock.... But it sucked on smooth granite, so I've adjusted them back to near vertical with the new steering and found it quite stable still... for U4, I will probably put some camber back on it |

Going for the "truggy" look... Scale class 2 if I'm lucky.... And need to extend the wheelbase by about 25mm (1") to fit the wheelbase of the sct kit. If I extend the wheelbase, I'll be too long for u4rc 1.9comp class

Cheers, it's a discontinued body for a 1/12 sct. Clues as to exactly what body it is are on the vehicle. Lol The body ads a whole new feel to the car and driving style has seriously got to change! No more approaching big steps straight on! |

Lots of trimming the body, and had to relocate the on/off toggle and cut a hole in the body for access. I doubt I could trim enough to stop the tires rubbing though Best part is... I can fit the large stick battery in the front still without removing the body and connect the wires through the wheel arch. |

I took it to a local comp yesterday.... The body was a hit. The truck performed quite well against scale 2 after I got my driving style sorted having a new body. As for the back yard... I've got heaps of good country.. 5 acres with scattered granite outcrops |

Several mods from last update... Modified an integy scx10 front bumper and fitted to GCM shock/battery plate Shortened rear chassis and re installed spare tyre mount at rear. "Tail light plate" fitted to spare tyre mount aswell. Fabricated body holders which squeeze and hold the body sills to the chassis tub. Fabricated body mounts. Now running a "crawler" esc and HH 35t motor All mods are to meet canz scale 2 requirements and to make access easier for battery changes. And can double as a "tough truck" entrant with a simple motor/gearbox exchange Beauty is, I can still fit a full size battery stick between gearbox and the rear of the bumper. Fits snugly.
