Default Been offered a 'Hammers'

A mate of mine is getting rid of a few of his RC's and has offered me his TH.
I do quite like these but my biggest problem is that I already own a Wraith and an Gmade R1 (amongst a fair few other crawlers )
So what do you guys think? Different enough to be worthwhile adding to the fleet?

Seems to have gone bit quiet on the TH front in the UK.

I to have many RC's but I run my TH more than any of them. It is a scale rig, a crawler and can be set up to be a pretty fast play truck all at once.
It is just fun

I don't have any crawlers to compare to, but I watched lots of videos of them when I was considering what to purchase when I got started and TH is a different animal. I have a drainage ditch that I dug in the backyard a few years back that I wanted to look like a dry stream bed. Moved several hundred river rocks in there along with pebbles and larger rocks. It's *really* fun to run the TH around on that and then pop it into the grass/dirt and hit the throttle. I've taken it to some other places and been happily surprised with the terrain it can handle. I've really done minimal upgrades, but slowly getting into that side of it. I think you will enjoy it.

I don't have wraith, but I do have a Yeti and an Exo Terra. Of the three, the TH is far and away my favorite to take out. In actually now have a couple of them.

I own a Wraith and a few SCX's, and an Ascender and Twin Hammers.

Hands down the Twin Hammers is my favorite. With a mild brushless motor mine crawls very well, goes fast enough for scale jumping, and handles very well even with a locked front diff.

I've run a brushless in my Wraith for go-fast stuff and the TH just takes on rough terrain at speed so much better without getting out of shape. Takes landings from jumps much better, doesn't bounce around and get unsettled.

I too have a couple wraiths, scx10s an exo, a yeti and a Twin Hammers... I have to agree with much that has already been said, it is probably the most used rc in my fleet. My kids love it, it can take a heck of a beating without much problem stock. I have only upgraded the tires/wheels and have yet (knock on wood) to actually break anything on it... and my son drove it off a 30 foot or so ledge once in Moab... didn't break a thing...

Thanks for all the input guys.
The odd thing is, here in the UK not much seems to happen with the TH.
Or at least there isn't much talk about them on forums.
Seems alive and well here on RC Crawler though.

maybe here in the UK people are just using them and not modding them.

Bye what I have seen over there people do not mod there real cars as much as the people in the US either. The petrol heads buy really cool, fast cars (some we can not get here ) and just take care of them. In the US we seem to have allot more aftermarket houses for modifying things, maybe because we do not get some of those cool rides here. I have noticed the car seen is changing over there, over the last few years more tuners and such.

Not to be contrary to my self but I have shipped allot of kits for the Twin hammer over there.

Well I decided to go for it.
The 'decent price' was made even more decent when I found it was fitted with a 1258tg savox servo.
So, first question.
I have a spare 12t Triple motor lying around. I know the esc has a 12 limit but would a 12t triple be pushing the limits to far?

Well, I appear to have already come across one of the TH's minor 'quirks'.
Came to check the pinion mesh and the thread is stripped for the tiny little screw.
No matter, I've 'fixed' it for now and ordered the Hot Racing version. At least that's got a proper sized screw.
