Picked up a twin hammers used with a tekin rs 17.5 combo in it! So far its been a great setup. I might go to a 13.5 after I get it handling the way I want it to. 1st thing to address was the front suspension. The previous owner built his own version of the gcm upright shock kit using axial shock hoops and a steel plate. Though it was functional it was uneven and I can't live with that! After watching a few guys at the u4 races bend different upright shock setups, I wanted to do something different. Although my design took away the battery fwd option it was protected under the body and I think mounting it to the camber link mounts makes it stronger than a shock pushing in the same direction as the bolt that's holding the mount. I just imagined stripped out plastic from shock loads. So here's what came up with. It will need a stiffer spring but for now it works! Setup it came with And now |

Yesterday's race the steering slide left me frustrated packed with mud. Although I knew it was a junk setup I ran it anyway rather than replacing it with bell cranks. Live and learn I guess. I really like the St. Erie setup, but I want to get my battery to lay in the chassis pan where the steering servo is stock. At the race I got my hands on a used double d bell crank setup. Although it didn't move my servo, I was able use the short side bellcrank. I still have a few things to change on it but you get the idea! |

I really like the steering setup. Great way to free up space on the left side of chassis for laying a 4200 mah shorty in there.
