I recently picked up the 10428 off banggood. Went to my lhs today and took some comparison pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk |

If you look at the two pictures of the front suspension you can see that the vaterra shafts are shorter. I've noticed on mine though that because the 10428 shafts are longer they hit the outputs from the diff and bind up which I believe has made my front diff start leaking. Here's some better pics showing what's happening. The first shows the shaft actually sitting in the slot of the output and the second shows how when it isn't in the slot the suspension doesn't droop as far as it should. Does anyone else's do this? ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk |

There’s plenty of slot left on the high side. Try shaving back on the diff cups a little at a time, say 2mm, and see how it works out. Is there any in/out play at the wheel hub?

No play at the hub. I took it out today and bashed it for a while and the shaft has actually ground itself to clear the output. Im going to look into getting some vaterra shafts and see how they work/fit.

Looks like the outdrive cup on the knockoff is longer than the Vaterra. All that being said. My theory is they are all made in the same factory. Look at the rod ends for example. If you were going to copy/clone a product why go to so much effort and have even identical rod ends when it would be cheaper to make smooth ones. My bet is that WLToys is the manufacturer. Just like HSP is the manifacturer of most redcat and maverick (budget hpi brand) and you see HSP release their own versions of the product 2 years after redcat etc. Obviously the contract allows it after a certain time period. I got my 10428b out on the trails for the first time on Friday, and so far so good. It's got nowhere near the capabilities of my Bomber or my Gen7.... yet. ![]() | |

I'd disagree. The parts are definitely not from the same tooling. If you look closely, they are different in detail. It's just a rip of Vaterra's design.

Has anyone set a scale body on these to show the width of them? Like and SCX10 Honcho or Tamiya Toyota body?

I found there to be a few postings of this reciever on the aliexpress app. It matches the one that was out of stock earlier in this thread. The lowest price point is for just the rx and the highest price point is for a rx tx combo. ![]() Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk |

Thanks Jake, I just ordered a receiver this morning. I ordered one of the trucks for my son's upcoming birthday. I didn't realize it had 5 wire servos when I ordered it, and none of the videos and reviews I checked mentioned them, just how great the truck is. I should be ready for the stock electronics to crap out now anyway. Kristian |

I did a bit of work to the one I bought today so it's ready for my son's birthday. Put oil in the shocks, greased the diff gears, and trimmed the front diff outdrives so the axles aren't the droop limiters. The thickest shock oil I had on hand was 60 weight, it feels about right in the rear shocks, but nowhere near thick enough for the fronts. Trimming the outdrives was a bit more work than I figured too, turns out the left side one needs to be a bit longer than the right side. I found that out after I trimmed both, so I had to build up the end of the outdrive cup with weld and grind it back to shape. It works now though. I think he's going to have a lot of fun with this thing, hopefully it's fairly durable. Kristian |
