From now i can say the K949 is rock solid ,i crawl and soft bash with my friends an there Twinn Hammers.

Hammer =pop out dog bone ,need new binding when receiver shift off.

K949 =after some rollovers the stock bad fixed receiver get in off position,when this happened and another transmitter is near you need bind again.

If you want crawl often over rocks put some protection under body,axel,lower links and a arms. They get scratched horribel even under the Twinn Hammer.

Hello guys. I just got mine 4 days ago. I viewed this page from 1 to last page and I really appreciate the inputs you gave to a guy like me who is new to this hobby.
I got a question, can we fill oil on the stock suspension of the WILD TRUCK? Will it leak? And what oil should I put in?

Sure! That was and is the first thing to do with RTR's. There was only a drop of some foamy oil in each.

I put Losi 20 oil in there while it was winter at the time. Has been fine for crawling since. For bashing or speedy driving would consider thicker.

Shocks are not as dry as Teknos shocks but I believe fluid is mainly still there.

On the last run the Lipo need to re connect some times,the problem a wire crack between Reciever and Lipo connector. Important grease all gearings before become trouble with shifting between first and second.

Ok my fail!

I change the foams to pipe isolation because this foam never suck water ,and i love to splash!
But i cut this foam so that i get a small room of air between mature tread and foam (15mm) so the tire can flex well .At first driving test i hear the sound of grib! Ha ha ,now the tire flex like a 1:1 over rocks.

- weights - I'm guessing in reference to oil. More weight=more dampening.
- kv - kilovolts Commonly used with brushless motors for a power/speed/rpm rating.
- lipo - lithium polymer battery
- turns - commonly used like kV, but for brushed motors.
- 13t or what T is that - may be referenced to a 13 turn motor or possibly a 13 tooth gear. If it's in reference to a gear then likely a pinion gear due to the low tooth count.
- diff - differential The Wld Thing has a front and rear diff whereas a 2wd will have just the rear. It may be locked or an open gear set just like the 1:1 counterparts.
- trim?



kV and turn ratings can be used interchangeably, but generally kV is for BL and turn is for brushed. Take the kV number and multiply by volts and you'll get the possible RPMs of that motor unless the motor has a max RPM that would be exceeded.

Lipo batteries are roughly 3.7v nominal. A 2 cell, or 2s, is a nominal 7.4v (but fully charged about 8.4v) and so forth. Nimh batteries are 1.2 to 1.5v per cell just like AAA, AA, C, & D batteries. To make a 2s equivalent you'd need a 7 cell. These weigh more and generally don't perform as well as lipo.

I do not mind helping people. It's what keeps this hobby going for years to come. A simple Google session typing these terms into an RC related search would get you the answers. Would you rather take the word of some new forum member from another hemisphere or look at multiple websites with various opinions and approaches to the matter at hand. Threads dedicated to resolving the very questions asked.

No reason you couldn't. The only issue I see is knuckle clearance on the front.

Took it out after I:
- put 40weight front and rear shock oil (definitely not enough - front is too soft)
- alu hub hex from a traxxas truck (but seems the original pin is a bit small, might go back to the original plastic hub hex)
- removed rear tire for lighter weight
- filled front diff with grease. I was thinking of putting heavier weighted diff oil, is 1,000,000 weight diff oil enough?

Im planning to go diff lock, in my local hobby shops, diff lovks for vaterra TH arent available. So I may be forced to go either Play Doh or Silly Putty or Hot glue. Which can you recomend?

Diff locks are available and even come in the kit I think. As for your tyre question above the existing wheels are 1.9" generally just refereed to as 1.9s. There are multiple tyres available to suit 1.9 rims but if you go too tall (or too wide) you will encounter issues with the fronts hitting on full lock etc. The next size up is 2.2" but I think they will be too big. Measure the height of your current tyres then look around for slightly taller ones. If you are willing to wait Voodoo are bringing out a smaller KLR that's 4.19" (approx 106.5mm) which would be a great tyre for this rig.

I'd pack it in there as best I could. People's opinion on what type of grease varies, but any kind is better than none.
