Good luck on that Bug body! It'll require some creativity to get that thing on there, and I look forward to seeing how you do it. If you run into a wall feel free to ask me for direction, as I have that body on my Twin Hammers. I'm assuming that yours will come out awesomely different than mine, but if I can be of assistance, let me know. I'll be waiting for pictures...

i decided on cutting off the motor section to allow the rear of the cage to come through. i saw a picture like that somewhere and love the way it looks. i will probably just trim the front fenders

It's funny, but it looks like all us micro guys are building Hammers right now! Yours, Dan's, and I just picked one up on Father's Day! I also plan to go the Baja bug route. I've got a sand scorcher body on the way. I'll start a build thread when I get the body. I can't wait to see what you do with yours! I love Baja bugs. It was finding all the twin scorcher builds on the internet that made me have to have a twin hammers.

I ended up going more for the rock buggy look with mine because at full articulation of the rear suspension, the tires rub the fenders...a lot. I had to shave almost all of the rear fenders, or deal with the rubbing, which is a sound I hate. I took too much of the front fenders off of mine. I wish I had left a little more because of how cool they look, but oh well. Mine reminds me of those East Coast rock buggys, which I enjoy as my son & I watch a lot of those videos from the Southern Rock Racing Series.

I do not, this is the first time I have seen a picture of it since I saw it . It has got to be the same one though there can not be 2 of them.

I will look on my external hard drive and see if I can find more pictures of it. I know I toke many pictures at that time. It was so cleanly done inside and out, it was very impressive work. I have a Baja myself and wanted to copy some of the ideas.

I have not been able to find the pictures I toke of it, they were not this good anyway. I believe they may of been lost when my last external hard drive gave up (only buy solid-state my 2 cents). I do though have a hole folder of the pictures I got off the desert rides forum at the time. I have many more but they are of suspension and interior and such.

This could be considered blasphemy to say in this section of the forum, and I think you will successfully pull off the "desert bug" look with the Twin Hammers, but I think it'd be way less work to acheive that look if you started with an Axial Yeti. I've got the Pro-Line Bug Body on my sons stock Kit Yeti, and it looks waaayyy more "deserty" than my heavily modified Twin Hammers with the Bug Body does. That being said, getting the Twin Hammers to look like that would likely be a fun project.

I do not know about blasphemy but I agree completely to do a Baja with the Yeti is definitely much easier and they look good. As you say Proline makes a Baja body specifically for it. For me though the Yeti is just not as scale as I want.
As I have said I love VW's and have purchased 2 different Proline Baja bodies for one of my Twin Hammers. The reason I have not put either one on is I do not think the scale is quite right. They look good and I have seen some done very well but to me they look just a little off. I think some of the best Hammer Baja's I have seen have been done with the sand scorcher body. I may end up with a sand scorcher body but I wish Proline would make a WIDE EYE Baja body for the Twin Hammers.
HINT HINT Proline

Thought if I gave Proline much love they may listen.

The bug body, is it 1/10 or 1/16? The only reason I ask is cause I want to use a 1/16 slash body for mine and I want to know if it will fit the wheelbase.

The Bug body for the Twin Hammers is made by Pro-Line to fit "1:10 crawlers." It's a different Bug body than the 1:10 short course Bug body, and the Bug body made specifically for the Axial Yeti. So it seems Pro-Line makes at least 3 different Bug bodies, and only the one for 1:10 crawlers fits the Twin Hammers. You might want to get your hands on that one and see how it compares to the body you're hoping to fit.
