Default Shocks for GCM tower

Hi all,

I am installing the GCM Shock towers and will be getting the Irie bell crank.

I am wondering what are my options for shocks with this new set up? What length am I looking for? What's best and what do you all use?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers

You need shocks that are 80mm uncompressed and 60 compressed. Axial has some that fit the bill, but I used g-made aeration shocks and used 5mm of fuel tubing to prevent them from reaching full extension and causing the dog bones to pop out. If you use the g-made shocks, DO NOT use the red bump stop as it will limit travel far too much. Additionally, if using G made, order the super soft springs if you will not have a front mounted battery and use 15 weight oil or use the 3 hole Pistons and 20 weight. The TH is so light up front you need a light suspension to make it work properly.

Hi MeanTT,

Any advice on the springs & oil if I am using a battery up front?

TIA,
Ray

Nope. My battery is in back so I can't help. I would say you probably shouldn't use the super soft springs since you will have more weight. Best of luck!!!

I run diaphragm. Great shocks. Suppose the aeration is pretty much the same but with air mixed with the oil.

love G-made XD's-the aeration shocks look awesome on my TH and no fiddling about with spacers to limit the travel.
