For me most of the friction was were the shift slider thing (do not know what to call it) slides on the square main shaft. I used rouge and coated the square shaft and inside the shift slider. Then moved it back and forth until the square shaft and inside of the shift slider was polished and moved buttery smooth. Then I also faced both sides of the drive cogs on the slider thing that index the gears and made sure the drive cogs were at 90 degrees then polished. Then the notch where the shift fork runs and all parts of the shift fork where they are in contact with each other. As for the gears themselves I just cleaned up where the cogs index and drive, not a hole lot there. Over all just look at the parts and fit them together outside the trans. Pay attention to contact points, look for casting marks that my be a problem. I am sure not all of them are exact, it is manufacturing.
