| My Twin Hammers kit build...
So, after a year of thinking, wanting to complement my Ascender I picked the Twin Hammer Kit. The build progressed fast, assembled completely in a week-end. I'm at the paint stage now, some electronics is in the mail to finalize the truck. No upgrade plan for the first run. I will see as I drive the truck. As seen in the photos, I have painted the roll cage white and the body panels will be a 2 tone blue/white metallic Electronic: Hobbywing 10BL60-Sensored Hobbywing 3650 - 3500kv Sensored -- Changed for a 17.5T 1900 or 2100kv ( 2015-05-08 ) Savox 1231SG - 444 oz. steering servo Savox 0250MG - 69 oz. shift servo -- A little small physically to fit on the tranny but has enough torque to shift with the servo saver. Castle Creation CCBEC 10 amp. 4x Venom 35C 2S 2000mAh (plugged 2 at a time in parallel) Just need to pick the RX/TX combo and the right motor pinion. That's pretty. Are you going with any stickers, or just going to leave it as is?

Ok, so the build is 99% final. Done a little hour of driving in mountain bike trails near the house. I had problems with my choice of motor and shipping from china. Wrong ESC sent and a 10.5T is too fast for my taste! I now run a Hobbywing 10BL60-Sensored with a hobbywing 3650 17.5T motor (1900 or 2100kv depending of the literature!) Coupled with a 25/28T pinion, it's first speed match my Ascender perfectly. And the second speed gives it a nice little boost! Motor/ESC combo is smooth even in second speed. Crawl nicely in 1st. |

Looking good mate! I painted my roll cage white with automotive paint because of your build but after a few spills it was just flaking off. I sanded, washed, primed and 3 coats but it wasn't enough.. Maybe I'm just unlucky. Yours is looking really good though! This is the only photo handy on my phone but that was after the first run with the white paint. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk |
