Default Rear sway bar hits battery/compartment

Just built my kit. Rear sway bay makes pretty good contact with the battery tray. Like enough to completely keep the suspension from going any further. I can wiggle it and make it clear but it looks like I have to put a pretty good bend on the bar and dremmel out the tray to make the problem disappear. Is there something obvious that I am missing? All three bars make contact and I have triple checked the installation. It is correct.

Anybody else have this issue?

I put a 5/16" spacer on the shock shaft to limit the compression travel. The rear still has plenty of suspension travel. Jerry

Your not missing anything. Just dremel the tray a bit to make it clear. Both of the twins I've assembled have had this done.

It almost seems like the battery tray was an afterthought. Between it hitting the sway bar endlink, and the "ears" where it attaches to the back of the cage that break off because there is so little material because someone thought you should be able to stuff a "shorty" pack back there. I made simple aluminum brackets to tie the cage to the bottom of the tray after breaking three of them they same way.

I like how the rear uptravel limitation is the axle link mounts contacting the crossbar under the battery tray.

There is enough room to get the swaybar to clear the battery tray without cutting the tray. Just rebend and on some swaybars cut (I know there not all identical) but there is room there, it is tit. Just make sure both sides of the swaybar are the same.

As for the upper links hitting, that is to knock the dirt of the battery. It keeps the battery cooler without all the dirt insulating it.
