My fallout themed twin hammers trail truck.

Well, I started my twin hammers build, thought I would share with you all!

Truck is running factory electronics for now, but I'll be putting some more trail focused bits in soon.

So far I've locked the front axle, installed rear sway bar, and upgraded the wheels/tires to a set of original 2.2 proline flatirons on a set of weighted redcat rs10 wheels. Swapped out the original buggy body panels and custom painted a desert truck body.

I went with a fallout 1 themed truck. It isn't finished yet, but the bulk of the work is done.

Looks great!

Today I Ran my old RTR TH with stock electronics for the first time in awhile. It was surprisingly capable climbing the loose dirt hills. Yours should be a little beast on 2.2's

Thanks! The M3 compound on the original flatirons is really good. I had them on my redcat rs10 and it would go anywhere, they were just to small. But they are a good size for the TH.

Took her out for the first run. Yuma AZ desert, 109 degrees. She got hot, but didn't give me any trouble. Also added some "cooling pipes" to the hood, because vehicles in the fallout world are nuclear powered.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7f9676048e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...75226178e2.jpg

I love that look, and the Fallout theme is great for inspiration for a wild build. Great start.

Got my interior back in, and did some minor detail work. That's it for the next 3 weeks unless i order stuff to my hotel room [emoji16]

not sure how I feel about the headlight stickers. I'd like to maybe get some real led light buckets if I can find some to fit the body.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7fadd73803.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d98cb4f450.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...eb9440cdf3.jpg

Everytime I took the truck out, the bottoms of the body would get hung up on rocks. While I liked the way it looked, I had to chop them off.

Now rocks should slide off the body tub and not get hung up.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d7daba8e78.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a01e1ca716.jpg

I gave the vid a "thumbsup" The TH looks really scale crawling in low gear, just got to get the weight low on the vehicle, it has a tendency to wheelie, which may prove beneficial when running over zombies.

Yah,. I've got the scorched parts bellcrank with suspension relocation which will allow me to put the battery in the tub. Just need to order all the screws to install it

Updated the body some with a roof rack, some scale accessories, and some meshes for the windows. Also have my driver (Vault 101 wanderer) sitting loosely in the cockpit as a test fit. Need to add some rust/dirt effects to the accessories.

It's been a few months since I updated, but I've got a lot of work into the truck and quite a few crawl sessions to get it sorted.

Got the scorched parts bell crank and shock relocation setup installed. This thing is pretty awesome, though it did take some tweaking to get just right. If you have a larger than stock servo you will have some clearance issues.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d1c58ea783.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e1908d0796.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e8fcf4401d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...745aee04ca.jpg

Re: My fallout themed twin hammers trail truck.

Also relocated the battery to inside the tub, moved the electronics between the shock mounts, and put in a 35t RC4WD crawler motor.

Gotta say, moving the battery inside the tub is easily the best mod for crawling you can do. The weight balance is awesome now. Oh, installed king shocks up front also.

Did some other minor cosmetic stuff, but I keep breaking my scale pieces off. Lost multiple pieces of the power armor on the trail, so just mounted the t51b helmet for now with a laser rifle.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9661857c5b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3300f7e37c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...de43021eda.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6e319f45ff.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0533ea7688.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...aa3f83044f.jpg

Re: My fallout themed twin hammers trail truck.

Currently the body is held on with picture frame hanging velcro things. It works well as long as my front tires don't catch my fenders.....which they always do. Need to find a way to mount the body in a way that it is secure, but easy to remove in order to facilitate easy battery changes. I'm thinking of using tiny magnets placed throughout.

Decided to add a bed to the back of the truck. Not done yet, need some paint work on it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...34f46a1d0e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9c13378263.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...01b9efdb8f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...edd16b6eb6.jpg

I love your rig. I find it fun to run with big Wraiths and beat up on them in the tight technical stuff.

Thanks! The group I usually crawl with runs an SCX10.2, Wraith, and Deadbolt. I can out crawl them in most situations. The experienced guy of the group refers to my truck as "The Spider" because it just crawls through everything 8)

The tub chassis does present some problems sometimes though, getting high centered a lot easier than other platforms.

Overall the TH is an incredibly capable trail/crawl vehicle once it is tweaked some.

Re: My fallout themed twin hammers trail truck.

Usually run the truck with the small 2.2s but decided I wanted to try the stock 1.9s and see how they work. I cut the lugs out and replaced the factory foams with some proline memory foams from some 2.2s I had. Cut down the front to make softer, and stuffed the rears in to keep them firm.

I have to say, the stock tires once cut performed very well. I was Impressed with their grip.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...22ed2db0ef.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a642b69305.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...261e473dd9.jpg

Haven't done much lately. Prepping the TH for Proline by the fire. Replaced the steering servo, touched up the paint, and added a friend!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d0724a02c5.jpg
