Default Aschammer

So I started a new build for something different. I'm using an Ascender chassis and twin hammers suspension and trans. I'm not sure what body I'm going to use yet but I have the chassis started. I built one of these a few years ago and it handled excellent.

This is my start just getting everything lined up and set where I want it. I'm going to use traxxas bellcranks for stearing.

This looks interesting mgputer!

Is it going to be a crawler or go fast?

It actually does both rather well. Not as good as a stock TH but much better than a solid axle rig. It's for fun in the yard and trails but crawls better than the stock set up.

I have it driveable now. Tried it out and works good besides I really need the shocks I ordered. And I can't decide on a body.

I'm using the stock style stearing for now. It has MIP shafts VP hubs, Blue Monkey trailing arms. Steele spur and pinion. I've got King shocks coming and many more upgrades to come.

I vote for a truck body!

Lol, anyhoo, I am thinking a prerunner... A honcho has the flared front fenders and extra cab most modern prerunners have... Rear fenders may be a problem though...
J concepts has some wide F series bodies with 12.5" Wb. Or old school with a ascender body, they will cover most of the tire...

Just thinking out loud here....

I've narrowed it down to 2 bodies. Well maybe 3, or 4.

Actually the last one I made was a prerunner style. This time I'm going a little different. I ordered the body.

Proline Bronco. It was my plan from the start and and just couldn't resist. It's been a plan since I bought the twin hammers. Now I need to pick a color.

Can you post some pics of how you set up the steering? Seeing this is making me want to pick up an ascender chassis and build my own.

Believe it or not the short wheel base CMS mount location was perfect. It has the stock set up for stearing except I moved the steering link to the top of the steering bar I guess you would call it. I have plans to update it to traxxas bellcranks eventually.

Added some brackets to move the rear shocks forward a bit so it doesn't look so awkward. Debating shortening the chassis to mark 1 to move them forward a little more. I might wait until the body gets here to check out the fitment etc before I do anymore adjustment.

The plot thickens. Now I just have to wait until Friday for the paint to show up.

Tire swap to test some Vaterra TSL as I have always liked the performance. Stole them of my F100 .
