Default A few questions regarding WLToys K949

Seeing that I cant buy a TWH kit anymore I thought that I would grab one of these..I don't care about the electronics as I have some quality stuff here along with a shapeways front shock assembly.I just love the versatility of the platform

Are all of the parts cpmpatible with the Vaterra version?..I have metal tranny gears to swap in as well

I am in Canada and am looking for the best place to buy one of these ..Thanks for your time

Is this the same truck>> https://www.banggood.com/WLtoys-1042...r_warehouse=CN

The truck already has metal gears. 99% of the parts interchange. There are some minor differences in the front differential housing and the CV axles. I don't recall what the diff housing differences are, but I believe there's at least one different sized bearing between them. The WL Toys uses longer CV axles, which will help prevent the issues that the TH had with the front dogbones falling out, however the WL Toys axles aren't as strong.

Lastly, the WL Toys vehicles come with no shock oil, which makes them ridiculously bouncy. The shocks can hold oil, and for the rears they are serviceable once oil is added, but the fronts have way, way, way too stiff of a spring, and didn't actually work until I moved up to something like 1000wt oil. Point is, if you're not going to convert the front to a stand-up shock configuration that would require new shocks anyway, you should at least add new shocks & springs to your list of stuff to replace.

Besides that, I believe everything else is 100% interchangeable.

Yes, the 10428 is the same platform. The only caveat is that some of the 10428 versions are cheaper, dumbed-down versions that don't include the 2 speed tranny or the metal differential gears. The 10428C is one of those types. Just avoid versions with the 2 channel radio and you'll be ok... anything that includes the 3 channel radio is the better model.

Banggood is a good place to order from. I've bought from them a number of times. Gearbest is another good place that I've bought from.
