| First ever build
Hello RC Crawler people! I'm currently in the process of building my first ever kit. As you may have guessed, it's a twin hammers . The vehicle is mostly assembled as it sits waiting for finishing parts to arrive. I will be using this as a bashing rig on grass, forest trails, gravel pits. It does not need to be waterproof. Hoping for good run times and durability. If someone could look over the parts list and let me know if I'm missing anything, or any recommended upgrades, that would be great. Recommendations for a RX/TX combo? Twin hammer, locked into 2nd gear Scorched parts bellcrank steering + upright shocks + hardware Scorched parts 2s battery holder Scorched parts esc/rx relocation Scorched parts anti-squat truss Gmade RSD 80mm shocks - these are on back order with no ETA. Any ideas for another option? I saw some 75mm proline crawler shocks that looked good. Mamba X 25.2V WP ESC +1406-3800kV Motor Combo Savox SA-1256TG w/ TLR1557 25T servo horn 25T 48P 1/8" pinion Last edited by great.dividers; 01-20-2020 at 06:50 AM. |

I would say that your list pretty much covers all of the bases for a good start..For shocks you could always grab a pair of used SCX 10 and limit them internally..It works well enough and they are everywhere pretty much.I kept the front diff unlocked and just filled it with 1,000,000 weight diff fluid which works pretty well for me.. I also purchased the scorched gear shifter. It works perfect in place of the servo..In second gear with a 28T it's almost too fast and I am thinking of going down to a 22T,more so for a good slow speed crawl in low gear..I have the same motor as you which I really like Last edited by xv-townboy; 01-22-2020 at 11:47 PM. |

Looks like you got all the bases covered. Glad to see others still building kit twin hammers.

I'm buying shorty HV 2S lipos for a racing truck. 120C 5500mAH. I could use them for my twin hammers as well I think. Or I try running it on 3S. I think I would have to drop teeth on the pinion though. Maybe around 20? I still plan on keeping it locked in 2nd gear for now Last edited by great.dividers; 01-27-2020 at 01:39 PM. | |
