Do you think they have more torque than a lathe motor?

Cubman- The more poles, the more torque. Lathe motors have 3 poles

JRH- I'm interested, do they have the same bolt pattern? Weight? Diameter? Can length?

looks like these babies will need a rewinding! lathe on 6 cells still a bit faster and more grunt than these 5 poles on 12 cells. Darnit!

Tested in a txt with 9 tooth pinions and LST tires. Im gonna get these suckers to work! I will try 14 cells before rewinding. I bet they would get a really long runtime if left alone, but need a good voltage to even get powerful.

today I am going to try and find some bearings for these babies. even if the motor is $11 with bearings, I still believe that they will make killer project motors. I will make a teardown and buildup thread later tonight

Does the shaft have a flat spot for the pinion or will I have to whip out the Dremel?

Good question. There is no flat spot. It might not be necessary, but it is an easy fix.

how fast do you want them? I can do 2-3 business days for $5. I don't have any wire on hand for rewinding, but radio shack does

Default It's motoriffic!

I got my sample motor from Johnrob, and made a pretty good go of it. The 5-pole arm fits the Mayhem can just fine and it spins very smoothly. I'll post details in the tech section.

Good find Johnrobbie

Just had a guy use these motors in his clod on 6 cells at the last comp, and everbody was very impressed! So, we can move this to the 6-18 cells catagory

Still got plenty, still $6 each. These puppies are slooooow and torque-ee

I wanted to let everyone know that if you plan to use one of these on a TLT, then be prepared for a SLOW vehicle. I picked one up this weekend to try on my BMVII (Evader tranny geared 88/15, 7-cell 2/3A pack with 2.2 Masher 2Ks) and while it has a lot of torque, it's a bit too slow for me with my current setup.

If you plan to use this on a TLT and want some wheelspeed as well, you had better figure to use at least 10-cells or more.
