Yes, the wires from the controller can go on either terminal of the motor. This just would make the motor spin the other way if you reverse them. If you have a control on your transmitter to reverse the channel's operation, you can take care of that there.

That's great you were able to find something to solder the wires on to!

Got it all wired up and put back together last night. It works perfectly....no creep at all. Very simple install if you take your time . Thanks for the great product Al!

Will it work on a rc4wd bulldog xt 9300? I have had one heck of a time with the stock one. Not saying it's junk but it's just very difficult for me to adjust.

I haven't had my hands on this winch. I just looked it up and I see conflicting pictures. In one pic, they show two wires running to the winch and that would indicate a conventional brushed motor inside. In the next picture, I see three wires running to the winch and that makes me wonder if it is brushless (seems unlikely though).


The answer is YES if there are two wires running to the winch motor. You can confirm that by connecting 6V to those wires. That should make the winch turn. Flipping the polarity should make it run the other way.

Hey Al,

It is just a simple brushed motor (2 wire) which controls the winch. There were going to make a brushless system one but I don't know if it took off. I think I will have to place an order for one!

Mine showed up and I got them installed. They go in easy and work flawlessly. Makes it very easy to convert a servo for winch duty.
The best thing about them IMO, is that you can take a fried servo and bring it back to life (as long as the gears are still good).

Got mine in today and got it installed. Very painless installation. Looks like the new circuitry is siliconed up pretty good....looks waterproof. When ahead a sealed the seams of the servo anyway.
