Al, I got mine and installed it earlier this week. Works fantastic! I'll be placing another order with you soon for my next rig.

I also would be interested in a higher voltage unit.

7.4v would be fine for me since that is what I run my steering servo at.

After I get a couple of other projects out of the way, I'll look into a higher voltage controller.

That would be great, Al. Personally, I'd be interested in running up to ~9v since that's what the Castle BEC can put out.

Great product Al, thanks!

I just got mine, and I converted my old 645mg without a hassle, just dropped right in.
However, once I had everything installed and hooked it up to the radio (dx3r) it rotated much slower in one direction than they other, I still had neutral, and both directions, but not a consistent speed.
I just need to ask: this thing does not have a variable speed to it, does it? I'm guessing it's set up pretty much like an on/off switch, not like a small speed control.
I just want to double check, as I most likely have a Bec/radio issue.

Sorry it isn't going smoothly.

There controller doesn't have variable speed. Something is up. I'm thinking that either the servo motor is doing something weird or maybe the controller has an issue. If you can try a little test, we can narrow it down. Connect the two wires to the servo motor in the other polarity and if the motor now goes slow in the opposite direction, the winch controller has a problem. If it runs slow in the same direction as before, it is the motor. Please let me know how it turns out.

Thanks,
Al

Yeah, I went to go do just that, opened it up and ta da! Smoked it. I did lose neutral position when I tested it last, noticed it was getting hot and opened it up. I wonder if I accidentally soldered to the motor can.
