Default HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place)

This is an overview of the electronic items that I make with links to the threads about them.
Most items I make are built to resist water. Usually the entire electronic package is covered in Plasti Dip and then wrapped in heat shrink.

Have a product idea or need some custom electronics work? Send me a PM.

Check out the tips section at the end of this post for some ideas on reliability and building.

There are two ways to order products from me. You can order from the web store or you can send me a PM.
HeyOK Performance Web Store

Note: Keep in mind that not every item that I make is listed. If you don't see what you want, please send me a PM here on the forum and I will get you what you want, or you can generate an email to me from the web store.

Winch Controllers
These are circuits that are used as motor drivers for a servo that has been converted to a winch or as replacement electronics for the stock controller that came with a 3Racing winch or similar. My winch controller will cure winch "creep" or "drift" that is common with servos that have been converted to winch use.

I offer two versions of output devices in my winch controllers. The first bunch use MOSFET transistors to switch the power to the winch motor. This is the same technology use in most electronic speed controls. The other version of winch controller that uses relay contacts to switch the power. This method of powering the winch means that you can run higher voltages and currents as well as have lower "on" resistance and therefore get the most pulling power and braking power from your winch. These controllers occupy a little more space than the semi conductor controllers.

July 4, 2014 - SOFT START! - when you order your winch controller, consider having me install the Soft Start option as it will help save wear and tear on the winch line and drive train.

Good Day Al

Just to let you know that I finally had time to install the controler for the winch.

Everythink is perfect now and working as it should.

Thank you for the great working product.

I recommend this controler to everyone with winch problem and doing business with Al was a pleasure and shipping even faster.

Just installed the "Remote Switch for LED Lighting" in my Dingo, set it up on the AUX channel, reconfigured the "A" switch on my DX3C to two position and it works like a charm.

Have to order another for the Wraith.
Thanks Al

any suggestions for a winch controller? I use a DX6i with the elevator joystick blended through the gear switch for an 'on and off' button. When the switch is in the 'on' position, I move the joystick up or down to control 'in or out' of the winch. I just cooked the stock controller board yesterday, so I rigged up a circuit board from an old servo just as a temporary fix. I basically un-soldered the motor from the board and soldered in jumper wires that feed the 3R Racing winch and the pigtail just plugs into the Rx. I had to manually center the pot on the board and glue it in place but it still gives a tiny bit of creep.

This one Winch Controller for Radio with Three Position Channel is a replacement for your 3R controller. If you like, I can supply one with a JST connector so it will just plug right in to the winch without any soldering.
Send me a PM and I will get you hooked up.
