Default BWD Micro Wheel Weight System for the new Losi Micro Crawler!

Ok guys, as you've seen in the Micro section, I've developed a budget minded solution to the lack of unsprung weight on the Losi Micro Crawler.

Here's some weight specs:

Wheels With stock rings = 11 grams
Wheels With 1x #1 (large hole) rings front and back = 16 grams
Wheels with 1x #1 ring back and 1x #2 (small hole) ring front = 18 grams
Wheels With 1x #1 ring back and 1x #3 (solid) ring front = 19 grams
You can run up to 2 large hole rings on the back side of the wheel, and 2 of any of the rings on the outside of the wheel, with no issues. Longer hardware will be required for running more than one ring per wheel face.

The rings are made from mild steel and will be provided in raw finish. You can polish/brush and clear coat, paint to accent your rig, or run 'em raw for that patina look.

The kits are being offered two ways for the time being.

MWWS Kit #1 Universal- 4x solids, 4x small hole's, 4x large hole's - $10.00
MWWS Kit #2 Scaler/light weight - 8x large hole's - $7.00

Hardware kits are also available for $6.00 and can be shipped with your MWWS kit order. Hardware kit includes 50 stainless socket head cap screws and an allen wrench specifically for the hardware. The screws are over sized by .003" for a better fit over stock, and are long enough to run with either 1 or 2 weighted rings per wheel face. The hardware in this kit fits the stock wheels much better than stock hardware, and has less chance of stripping the holes in your wheels.

Shipping starts at $2.00 USPS First Class in the US and $3.00 international. If you order more than one kit, shipping will be an additional $1.00 per kit after the $2.00/3.00 initial shipping charge.

These should begin shipping this weekend if not before. I have 125 Universal kits and 60 LW/Scaler kits en route...but these should continue to be a stock item.

Payments should be made via paypal to billetworks@yahoo.com with a note for what product (as listed above) and how many if more than one.

I'm also trying to put together a hardware kit which should be available seperately.

Hardware has been ordered and will be offered seperately. They are oversized by .003" diameter, which helps reduce the risk of stripping the wheel holes, while still going in without issue. They are also extended length which means they will work with one or two weight rings per wheel face. The screws are stainless steel socket head cap screws.

Each kit will include 50x screws and one allen wrench specifically for these screws. Price will be $6.00 per hardware kit and can be shipped along with your weight kit for no extra charge.

Keep in mind, for one weighted ring per wheel face, the stock hardware will work just fine. That said, you will notice that the stock hardware is a pretty loose fit in the wheel holes, which is the reason why I went slightly oversized. The new hardware is a MUCH better fit over stock.

All Wheel Weight Kit orders are en route and should be received during the week this week, and none later than Friday for the furthest locations from DFW.

Thanks,

Don

I received mine yesterday and installed last night.

They look great Don, I can not say much about the performance as I replaced the weights I was using with your rings, but they certainly look nicer than wads of lead and it does not crawl any worse with them on instead of the lead, probably even better

Just waiting for that chassis to go on sale on your site so I can send you more of my money

You order was dropped off at the USPS this morning after being packaged last night to ship. I appreciate everyone's business and do still expect to have some good news on the Micro Wedge in the next couple of days

I am running the stock shocks and springs. I am updating the build instructions today to show a simple part of the rod ends to file that offers more and smoother articulation. It's a simple mod that anyone can do to improve their setup.

Have you considered making these out of tungsten for even more density?
