| Help Ian "Low Crawl" Young build the ultimate AX-10 SSS-R!
For those who do not know, Sgt. Ian Young is a close friend and an integral part of Team BWD. He has just returned from a +year long deployment in the sand box. He's had some close calls...and I know we are all glad he has returned home safely. This thread is being created because I know we all want him to know how much we stand behind him and appreciate all he's done for us by serving. Even while deployed, he has done an awesome job of providing tech insight and feedback with his builds. I've had some requests of what he may need, so I decided to make an offical thread on Ian's Rig. I have no doubt he will put together a great build thread on this. Anyone who would like to give recommendations, or would like to pitch in, are more than welcome to post up here. Here's the have/shipping list...I will update as needed, and when he lets me know what he has managed to get himself. There is no pressure here...this is just a thread of appreciation for a great man who is closer than a brother to me. Axial AX-10 RTC (I believe) White Dot Rovers? Foams? Holmes Hobbies BRXL ESC? Lipo's and charger? BWD SSS-R chassis kit (he'll be getting a normal kit along with a set of the lightened components I'm running on my personal rig) BWD 2.2 x .75 Vertex Bead-locks for AX-10 BWD HD Motor Plate Killah bug buddy by jwalker Aluminum Knuckles and C's from Bigflex Tricked out spare Axial axles and trans from CD13 Spektrum DX3R courtesy of Solomon Thanks Don BWD Last edited by billet works; 08-11-2010 at 04:01 PM. |

I cant remember why i ordered the pink dot ones, are the white dot ones softer because these babies are pretty sticky. I ordered a set anyways. What i nedd intel on is Electronics, i have an ESC but the RX / TX, does spektrum set the standard here? which RX is best?

Ian spectrum is the way to go hands down But the reason everyone shys away from the pink dots they seem to be toooooo soft and the lugs fold over and what not. I really like the white dot rovers over any tire i have tried and i have tried them all except the boss claws haven't got my hands on those yet. I really didnt care for the sedonnas either I currently run proline oversize dual stage foams and white dot rovers, That's what got me qualified for the Nats If ya need some let me know i have some layin around i could sen your way |

If you get the Spektrum DX3R then I have some custom skins for you, they are true flames with my logo on them that i will hook you up with. I run the white dot Rovers with Novas Ark Crawler Innovations dual stage foams, they work awsome together.

Don, It's GREAT what you are doing for LowCrawl! I know that we have had a muddy past, but this goes way beyond that. Ian, What you and all those in the armed forces do for us, is the Ultimate anyone can do. Risk Life for those you don't even know. Thank you... Please except my personal radio as a small thanks for your great service. You don't have to keep the skins either . Team BWD You guy's are doing great things. Keep supporting! | |

Sorry about the delay guys, things have been a little busy with reintegrating with the unit. I just ordered myself a Hitech 7955TG servo and cant wait to get that here. I also ordered a Casltle BEC to give it the right juice. The last bits are a Batt and Charger. What is everyone using? what are the chargers i can rely on? My LHS is a little too obvious when it comes to hocking their products so i need some bias-be-gone on this. |

Get this charger, it does it all and it is affordable. Bigflex and i have 1 and we love it. http://www.hobbypartz.com/skychb6chdup.html You can also get your lipos there cheap as well. these batteries are great and all you need to do is add some deans on there. http://www.hobbypartz.com/83p-1000mah-3s1p-111-20c.html |
