Shoot dude, you know what I did? I went looking a few pages back to see if I said something about all those Berg gears, and got sidetracked. Thanks for reminding me! I'll see when, cause I need a new pair also. Back when I find out. |

I may have missed it, but when did you stop carrying the NN chassis?

Ok, I think I've pretty much decided on the AX 10 with the edge chassis or eclipse or hustler. As far as teh TCS stuff What's the major difference here? Eclipse Edge |

who can help me? I have like 1600 bucks to build a killer AX10 I'm thinking of either the edge or the eclipse. Leaning towards eclipse. I want to go all aluminum on this thing and purchase through TCS but I don't know what's what as I'm new to this. I use to build xx4's and xxx4's but it seems my memory is gone. I want this thing 100% I realize aluminum doesn't slip well, but I will be building some carbon fiber protectors for under the axles. I don't race or compete, so I could care less. All I care about is durability and bling. I'm a backyard basher, that's all. Who can help me pick out parts? I got money burning a hole in my pocket. I also want rear steer on this. Thanks, Kevin |

Get a kit. Get the Eclipse. Get the TCS delrin skidplate and Boomerang rear 4 link plate. Get some Panther Cougars tires. Get a Tekin FXR and 45 turn motor. Get a Castle BEC because you're going to want to run a 3 cell lipo pack and the Tekin's built in BEC doesn't work well enough when powered by a 3 cell lipo. Also, get a HiTec 5955 (or something) servo for over 300 ounces of steering power. Shocks I'm not sure yet with the Eclipse. I think they have to be short, but you can watch for a build thread somewhere to see what works. That's a good start for sure. There's CVDs, and heavy duty gears, and other crap you'll get to eventually.

| Edge Chassis Setup Issues
I just received an Edge Tube Chassis, but I'm having issues with height. The rig is WAY too high. I had an Axial chassis....so I removed the old chassis and attached the skid plate to the new chassis. The lower links are 101mm Bent Axial links. The upper Tri is 55mm attaching to the closest hole. The shocks are standard CKRC Aluminum 120mm shocks with super soft springs in front, and medium blue in the rear. The shock mounts on the Edge chassis are MUCH lower (causing to push the rig much higher) than the Axial Chassis. The height is probably a solid 1/2" higher....causing the drive shafts to fall out, the rig is now 12" long instead of 12.5 and it flips over backwards very easily. A) What type of shocks are you supposed to use? B) The chassis is billed as a direct replacement for the Axial...but the dimensions are not the same. "great direct bolt on tube frame for your AX10 Scorpion". Once you compare the Axial to the Edge...it's clear the shock mounts are much lower. Last edited by SgtDoogie; 04-12-2009 at 01:14 PM. |

Notice it's set up as a drooper? To be run properly as a drooper it "Requires internal shock springs and some additional hardware, both are included in our TCS "Edge" hardware kit sold separately." (Took that from the TCS site.) Or you can use a shorter shock for a sprung suspension.
