Default Deringer, 2.2 Mod & 2.2 Shafty Comp Spec Body by Lattice Innovations

Proudly presents

The Deringer, 2.2 Modified & 2.2 Shafty Competition Spec Body

The Deringer is a body for the 2.2 Modified and 2.2 Shafty competition spec crawler body in full compliance with the 2016 body rules.

It is slightly larger than 8" long and 3" wide.

The height can be adjusted anywhere between 3" and 4", depending on how you cut it.

The Deringer will help you shed some g's off the top half of your rig, will help your rig get back on all 4's, and will help you squeeze past those rocks without getting hung up on your old body-less chassis.

The Deringer is made of vacuum formed from .030" polycarbonate sheet and will be shipped clear with a protective film on the outside.

The Deringer weighs ~18 grams
Weights will vary slightly depending on how you cut it.

Get your's for $35. Taking orders now, product is in stock.

Updated 9/23/15 based on 2016 rules

Yea, it is Cake to re-right. The windshield acts like a nice "ramp" when you are upside down and find a rock.

OK so while I was at Rausch Creek for the NECQ I met BC-Brian and I got to see this body.
when I first looked at it I thought it was an xr-10 Hardline body.

When I learned more about it and found out it wasn't the hard line body, I really liked the look of it being really low on the chassis and how the back of the body curves in and keeps it nice and tight.

I saw that he had a heavy gauge and a light gauge one for sale for $25 per body. which for a body that is really nice and will hold up to my driving I will take it. I am running a switch chassis from Chaotic Crawlers and I was running the cab on in. the only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that it was high up and got stuck on stuff when I tried to scoot by it.

So I picked up both body's from him and the heavy gauge is on my 2.2p and the light gauge is going on either the 1.9 or 2.2s.

So I had a comp on the 7th and I had the 2.2p apart to get it ready for the comp. and I cut the body to what I wanted it to look like and I dropped it on and it fit Beautifully over the switch chassis.

I got the body painted the day before the comp and I like the look of it for a quick thing. but with paint it weights .6oz(heavy gauge body) on the scale and I can take more weight out.
when I got the light gauge one cut and on the scale it was .4oz.

Now onto the pictures then the after thoughts.

The 003 on the side stands for the 3rd body he sold I also have 004

So after going to the comp and pulling off a third place...(I comp with TurboFest and Winnerone23)so there is some competition. but the body did exactly what I wanted if not better.
with the switch cab on I would have gotten it hung up in a few places because of how tight the rocks were. other people got stuck were I did not.
when I got upside down at a point the body is so low on my chassis that I could easily get it to slide were I wanted to flip it back over. the body is narrow enough that I didn't have to worry about getting hung up.

My switch chassis is the original delrin version so it could be lighter but going from the cab to the Deringer I lost .6oz off my rig. the cad, cross braces and the panels in total weighted in at 1.2oz and the body at .6oz.

If you are looking for a body and want something light that will roll over better then some body less chassis, is narrower and will protect you shocks as well this is you BODY

Looks Awesome ASW! Glad it helped you ring in third place, and I like that you got the serial number on the side

I didn't get to see it run much, but it seemed to do well, congrats on the 3rd last weekend.

2.2s body spec Did not change in 2013. They must still be 12.5 x 5 x 3"

What about doing a 2.2s version? I realize the concepts would be a little different, but I think it would be pretty cool.. I know I would buy one

Interesting concept. Would have to get some feedback from people on the design so it isn't just another hardline.

Drop me a line if you want to discuss it.

Testing my Deringer body by Bc-Brian seeing its roll over capabilities - YouTube

Hard to roll it over with one hand so it will roll over really easily though

Loose gravel and dirt doesn't help and I don't have the strongest motors so I try to stay on the tires
