Why are these twice as expensive as your competitions white delrin wheels? Just trying to justify the extra dough, as I like your products...

Good question, I have no idea what they pay for material or what their overhead is. It's been my experience that delrin is almost the same cost as Alum. One sells by the pound (alum.) and one by the foot (delrin) If you notice it's the same thing with their 2.2 stuff. The setup and tools for both materials are just about the same with the exception of the tap drill and the tap. In alum. I use a roll tap and in delrin I run a cut tap, Cycle times are pretty close to each other. Also the design of the wheel plays into the equation how long it's on the machine (cycle time) Our wheels are machined 100% meaning all surfaces are machined. I have noticed some don't do this so they have less cycle time, our rings are anodized if the customer wants. Our 1.9's come with 16 threaded holes this adds time. All of our 1.9's regardless of material cost the same and the same for our 2.2 stuff.

Thanks Mayhem Eng.

also the finish on mayhem wheels is EXTREMELY smooth, almost no tool marks. i believe (from my almost no knowledge of machining) this is done by taking a shallower cut, and the bit moving x&y at a slower rate, thus meaning more time on the machine and a smoother finish.
wheels are worth the cost.

The mayhems are top notch. I could easily machine my own wheels, but I rum mayhems because I can't justify the time it would take me to make a set of wheels that nice. Theres a lot of mill time in a product that nice.

They fit perfectly. So well that I still had a smile on my face after all those screws.
